Did he not win promotion with villa a few years ago? I've got a hunch he can maybe play right back too. Like others have said though, seems to have had alot of legthly injuries recently though. If he stays fit though, I think he could be an astute signing. He's got to GET fit first!

Stoke's apparent new transfer 'strategy' of loaning injured players is somewhat disheartening. Yep, we aren’t learning. Then they are in and out of the team, can’t find a rhythm and then form drops off. Return to parent club alter but a handful of games and…..repeat.

He definitely has the ability to be a top player at this level, just got to hope he stays fit.

Anyone know what his injury is and how long he’s currently been out with it for?

Anyone know what his injury is and how long he’s currently been out with it for? He had a long term back injury but has just started training again so needs to get match fit.

I really don’t know what to make of this one.
If he was fit and raring to go I’d be delighted, as he certainly has the attributes and potential to be amazing.
But he’s injured more then Nick Powell, he’s only on loan so if we do get him playing he’ll be anywhere but stoke in the summer.

Some good tackling skills without going to ground, and good positioning. The lad's got great composure and seem to be thinking ahead, and also seems to take his penalties well. Not liking his risky sideways passes though, those will cost us big time if he tries them. A bragging video on YT never tell the whole story though, and I seem to remember some howlers from the OGS days.

Back conditions have a nasty habit of becoming chronic and long lasting. Ryan’s experience tells us all we need to know on that front. Who knows we may get a bit of long overdue luck on the injury front and he bounces back wonderfully but signing an urgently needed defender who hasn’t actually played a game for a year is a jaw dropping gamble.

After the Hoever video that's refreshingly dull - a defender who blocks, tackles and clears his lines. Get well soon - we need more boring at the back

The fact we've known that Souttar is likely to leave since the World Cup, and that is the best we can come up with is yet more of an indictment against the owners and how they run the club - aswell as the new manager, his mate and the size of their contact book. I just hope beyond hope that we get away with it for once but christ alive, even in this post COVID world clubs like Luton are showing that it doesn't have to be a full on eyes closed 'poke and hope' approach.

At least there is a parking place already for him Is that actually the special carpet we roll out when they get out of the taxi for the first time.

I guess he the type of player we need to attract to move on up the table. Premier league ability, yes he recovered from injury ,most players are going to get injured in their football career. Im happy to welcome him. I hope he can help us finish midtable.

Fitting that we’ve signed an Axel because our wheels have well and truly fallen off.

He definitely has the ability to be a top player at this level, just got to hope he stays fit. If he had been fit he would have been a top end signing, but now I'm a bit worried about his fitness. When is he able to play? Will he break down again when playing competitive games? I'm not sure this was the right move right now!

From the sound of it he is back in training so maybe we give him some minutes in the under 23's to build him up before he makes his debut in the first team.

With Matty Baker loaned out too, we genuinely could be looking at another one from the 21's starting, who would be the next to step up Okagbue?
Taylor's injury surely mustn't be as bad as it looked on Sunday.

Such nonsense spouted on this thread - Tuanzebe is a class act. He's played champions league footy and had Mbappe in his pocket. He's better than Soutar

My Manure supporting mate really rates him…..seems to think he’s been on loan at Napoli? yes but only played 1 game because of injury I think the whinging re his injury record is probably not unfair as he's been injured a lot however I think people have also underestimated the qulaity of the player here, this is a coup for the club gamble yes but one I'd take however if we had just got Cresswell or Edwards as well...

He's better than Soutar I don't think anyone is questioning his ability , the fact he has played one game in a year is the worry and he is apparently some way off match fitness coming into a team in a relegation fight , just think of Sterling who came in August and is only now seemingly getting to match fitness. That is the concern especially if Taylor is injured.

It’s a weird one because his injury record is the only reason we’ve managed to sign him, without it he’s probably too good for this level. It’s a gamble but hopefully it pays off.
