I hope Alex neil is not going to make do with the players he has at the club.it is half way through the transfer period and there's no sign of any new signings, he has let 2 or 3 players go and how many more is he going to let go.maybe I'm being a bit over the top but Alex neil does not fill me with any confidence at all since he came to the club.

That would make no sense. I’d say he’s clearing the decks seeing what he’s got and then bringing players in. I guess what happens to Soutter is key to what he can do in the market. Buying players if he’s sold and loaning if he’s not.

We need a keeper before the window closes or I fear for us.

Even if we miraculously bring in 4 new players we're still in one hell of a dog fight

Nothing will happen until the last few days he as good as said that, we have got to wait until everyone else has frenzied and we see if there is anything decent left.

As someone said on another thread at least we’ve only got one more league game before the window ends so we won’t lose much ground if we don’t bring players in.

It's looking like it all boils down to Souttar, if we want to avoid the shot in the dark of couple of loan gambles? Permanent deals look out of the question unless he goes
Outside of him, who is going to attract bids? Tymon, Brown, Campbell? You might have said so at points in the last 2 years, but can't see it now.
Our budget-restricted January loans have been notoriously shit - mostly young kids who've made no impression or players with no minutes in their legs who can't hit the ground running - Clarke, Matondo, THB, Maja, Moore , Philogene....
So God only knows who's on the list this time. The pool of semi-proven loanable options who can make an impact in a pressurised potential relegation fight will be ridiculously small and there'll be a queue for them, most looking more attractive than us at the moment.

Another 15/20 points will keep us up. we have 6 very winnable games before the end of Feb. If we get 10 or 12 points from them we should be okay. The last time we lost 3 in a row under AN we bounced back with a massive 1-0 win away to Wigan. See, anything could happen. Anyway it shouldn't be boring.

He was quite explicit that unless we sold we’d be getting loans in. We’ve sold Bursik and sent back Delap (and still have too many loans so Kilkenny will probably go.
I can see us scrambling for a few whenever there’s movement on Souttar.

I can see us scrambling for a few whenever there’s movement on Souttar. I don't think there is a limit on loans, just that you can only have five in a squad for any game. We are supposed to have received £1 million for Bursik and we are getting almost another half a million from FIFA because the Aussies made it out of the group stages, so I reckon he will be able to make at least 1 signing who should be decent.

OK Everybody knows that the standard of the Championship is poor this year. Nottingham Forest signed almost all the decent players in the League. Very few clubs,if any, have spent money on players. We are finished with Burnley and Sheffield Utd.,so I don't know what you are all afraid of, even if we don't sign anyone.

If we’re not signing anyone then letting Delap go will be a mistake.
You’ve got to hope there’s an actual plan in place for better signings surely.

Post Title……if we could retain Championship security until the summer I’d say yes. Then a complete and massive shake up. Loans and out of contract (no extensions….gone). Pay up any others with 12 months left. Complete clean slate. AN the man $1 million dollar question

We've stopped winning games of football. The standard in the Championship is always poor.

He is a very experienced manager and I'd say he has a plan A and a plan B for the transfer window. Plan A if he gets decent money to spend from Souttar and Plan B for if Souttar stays. With all his contacts here and in Scotland, I think that he might surprise you.

Why would you panic buy now not knowing what money you might have in a few days time. We will have a plan A with the Souttar money and a plan B if we don’t sell him. If we have money we can attempt to get better players. If we take people on now they will be bang average loans. If we wait a few days we might just tempt some better players. Players who we can start to rebuild a team with.
Without the money we are fishing in a pool of dross. Journeymen no better than what we have.
Quite right to play it out till the end of the window and let’s see what we can do. Might just be our only option of bringing in people who make a difference

According to a lot of people we should have got at least a point from the game. Others claim that at least we are doing better than we would have done if we had kept MON.

Most of you will disagree with me but I don't think we need a lot of signings. If we could bring in a quality goalkeeper and a quality DM, that would make a big difference and I am sure would be enough to keep us up. I would rather make wholesale changes in the summer when there is usually more options available and more time for the new players to gel.

I think he has to bring in a wide player since he has complained of nothing else since he got here and a keeper of course. Both on the cheap.
We won't sell Souttar, no one will come anywhere near our valuation.
