It is our way out of this mess and shouldn't be overlooked. When our FFP issues clear up a bit in the summer we must resist the temptation to bladder our available budget on players that are in their prime with no resell on value. We must look to blood as many of the younger players coming through as possible, else Souttar will be the last pay day for a while. Absolutely but I wont hold my breath. You're talking about a sensible way to run a football club and that seems an anathema to Stoke City.

Neil isn't a fan of playing youngsters He played Taylor and bought Tezgel on today mate. He hasn't in the league but he may do we will have to see. Nice to see Macari get on the pitch as well.

Will be interesting to see how he does this next 12/18 months. He's one of them that will have a decent career in football but to what level? At the moment, I reckon he could cut it regularly at League 1/2 but it depends on how he develops and learns. Souttar when he was 18/19 looked to be on a similar trajectory but learned loads and put it into practise.

Maybe best we don’t lump all our hopes on him either then. We seem to be struggling to find a fit firing striker, so I can understand the clamour for Tezgel to be the answer. I sadly think many will be disappointed though. Its not that simple is it? Performances at u21 don't necessarily translate to league football. It's not an exact science, far from it. In his cameos so far he's impressed me because he hasn't been eased off the ball and has coped physically. And little things like his first touch have been spot on. Exactly. It’s a massive step up which I think is lost on some.

First time I have seen him
Was expecting a lightweight type of player.
Totally surprised, he looked pacey, good first touch, found space well. Linked up well,
Wish he had been greedy and gone for the ball when Gayle slotted it to the keeper.
I said after 10 minutes he had done more than delap in 70 minutes. Obviously only league 2 but I came away thinking he should definitely get more time on the pitch having had my brain frozen with the shit I’ve watched so far this season.
The positive of the day for me

I thought he was Powell on the ball at one point which is as big a compliment I could pay him at the minute.

Watched the game this afternoon and was really impressed with Tezgel when he came on, looked sharp, keen and hungry. The way Delap has been playing, I'd give Tezgel a run for a couple of games and see how he gets on, can't be much worse ? Did Liam Mclarron play yesterday?

If he's unlikely to get much game time the rest of the season then I wonder if Charlton would take him. They're calling out for a striker and Dean I presume knows Tezgel quite well. Could be a good loan for him if he's capable of it.

Tezgel is 17 for God's sake! There is no way on God's earth he's going to rescue our season. Why would we put that kind of pressure on the lad. We've just let a previously highly rated 19 year old go because he couldn't function in our set up. Tezgel needs to be protected not hung out to dry. Nor can I see Neil doing that anyway.

Agree Think it's a good idea to give him game time in the first team but not 'stick him in from the start' especially whilst relegation is a threat If we can ease our way to mid table then more minutes, and maybe for Lowe, Griffiths and others too Otherwise this window I think we need another striker

Tezgel looks like he could eventually be a player that would find space and do that. He’s not going to do it at present though.
