its been quoted where the Coates family paid a £460 pound tax bill in this country, and we are still fXxxed over by FFP, yet chelsea and Man city with foreign owners are allowed to spend what they like and get away with it,surly any one paying that amount of tax in England should be allowed to spend there money as they like, I think you missed 'million' off the end of 460 yes mate that was a mistake

yes mate that was a mistake £460 would have been Nadhim Zahawi before he got caught out... The article suggests some very good PR by the club. This is a new argument but potentially a very powerful one as there is always the option to move more of Bet365 offshore for tax purposes. Currently both Bet365 and Stoke City are squeaky clean on tax. I know if one legal scheme used by pretty much every club that Stoke City declined to use on principle. Linking investment in football to the tax payment is very clever lobbying.

Serious quest Chiswick: As a poster indicates on this thread, when the shit inevitably hits the fan, will Stoke City be in the firing line or will we be in a position of strength? Tax and legal stuff is not my strong point You read how much some of the big guns are in debt and you seriously can’t see them surviving….. well I can’t anywayz

I don't like FFP and I think it has numerous flaws in it but ultimately had we not had FFP against us we'd probably wasted at least £100m on crap. Having those restrictions has forced us to at least consider improving the recruitment side, whether it works we'll see.

I know it will never happen but I would love the powers that be in football to set a maximum budget annually for each division that allowed all clubs to compete , the money in the game is becoming a joke and as we know it doesn't always work, we came down and tried to play Billy big bollocks and are right back to square one now , should be about smart recruitment and good coaching and management
