Is this a perception of our Forest performance or a reflection on the recent matches this season?

The Brown glaring miss is just so Jacob Brown. Delap, Brown and Gayle are toothless.
Good to see Tyrese scoring and looking a threat though.

Clearly should've won that more easily our strikers really need to get some more belief. TC proved a sufficient threat which is good.

That header from Gayle and that Brown miss. Wow. 😂🤦♂️ It was harder for Brown to miss the goal than hit it. Gayle's header was symptomatic of his decline as we have witnessed this season in competitive matches too many times now. The majority of our strike force really do flatter to deceive so far, its worrying, they need to get their collective acts together. It was good to see TC score a couple of ugly goals when needed though.

I’m not sure where the downer on him has come from. He’s not been consistent with it which can be frustrating but he’s been beating his man and getting to the byline quite often.

Yeah Gayles is just all over the place, you’d expect a striker of his quality to bury that and he got it so wrong. It’s crazy to see how far he’s declined.

He's certainly been our best striker so far but that isn't saying alot really. Seems his detractors are unimpressed with his work-rate but as far as I'm concerned even though he could somewhat raise his effort levels in that area, that's not really where he makes a difference.

The downer on him comes from 1 or 2 games where he plays way below his level. Which is curious because we have other players who have to have a dozen crap games for the same kind of downer. Generally he's played well. He had that one very poor game when he had glandular fever and got roasted on here. Best forward option by a mile, he just needs some players around him who are on the same level. Powell and Campbell is our dream team but unfortunately its rare they get to be on the pitch at the same time.

We’re not scoring anywhere near enough goals to be challenging top half this season.

He works hard though, and if presented with enough chances he will score, the one thing I like about him in particular is he doesn't often let his head drop. It's just a pity he can't martial his skillset more effectively. He's the striker you bring on when you want a defence minded attack, as far as I'm concerned.

In fairness and I know friendlies can be deceptive but we were all over them and played aggressively and on the front foot. Hopefully bring that attitude to next Saturdays game

every post depressingly negative on here, what i watched is a highlights where we absolutely bossed the game and restricted them to two efforts on goal.

That header from Gayle and that Brown miss. Wow. 😂🤦♂️ And Delap's. All symptomatic of our most glaring problem. We all tend to focus on the keeper issue because they let in soft goals which leads to frustrating losses but we had enough gilt edged chances last night to have scored 6 or 7 and yet we could easily have lost it 1-0. We 'scored' the two scrappiest goals. We do need a decent keeper but more urgently (and probably more difficult or expensive to find) we need a goalscorer or for one of our forwards to find their shooting boots pronto.

At times the only time we seem to be able to score is to ask the opposition to do it for us. I mean what was Delap doing there? 30M? I'm assuming that's what we get paid to take him off Man City's hands?

That's true, but presumably more than half of the Forest side is otherwise engaged in Qatar! I don't know because I haven't looked at the line-ups, but that all looked far too easy to create chances. That can't be anything like their first team, surely?

Very promising highlights just tainted by only a few things.
1. Our finishing is by and large as abysmal as it's always been.
2. Bossing a game and conceding to your only one effort on goal is just starting to get a bit ridiculous now. It's borderline trolling ourselves.
We simply have to sort that out else we are going nowhere fast.

I thought there was much to be encouraged about, we looked to have a lot more of a cutting edge and some really good performances, thought Tymon looked less one dimensional and very sharp..

fine from penalty box to penalty box , but who cares ?
we are abject in both penalty boxes
we have to change , or we are going down
nobody plays awful football in both penaty boxes , at both ends of the pitch and stays up

Decent run out ahead of next week.
A new ‘ground’ for me , v cold despite being wrapped up after last weeks surgery , despite being just a friendly and an odd one at that ( personally prefer the oddities TBH ) a surprisingly small Stoke following being a new ground.
The need to up our goal to chances ratio come the restart remains self evident , though quite how we achieve that given the personnel I’m not sure , and again whilst only a friendly another goal conceded as half time approached after dominating is a trait we need to lose
All in all though a good if cold night out , quick half in the local brew pub in town .. and good to get back to watching live footie again
