Hartlepool Marina is quite pleasant these days, 15 minute walk from the ground with a Wetherspoons on the way for those who like them. Couple of hotels round there if you fancy making a night of it. Could have been a lot worse draw........

Spare a thought for the word "minnow".
Abandoned and neglected, it remains in the dictionary for 364 days. Then for the FA Cup 3rd round draw, it is released for an hour or so, given a glimpse of freedom and self-worth - only to be imprisoned again for the rest of the year.
Nothing short of abuse. Where's Susie Dent when you need her?

In this collection of Nigel Gleghorn’s goals is the 1st goal of this compilation at Hartlepool in 92?Ive just been trying to find the game when we scored in the last minute there🤔 Good clip I remember driving to Hartlepool away when Gleghorn scored the winner. I paid for a full tank of petrol up there on my credit card, but it never appeared on my statement😊 Is the 3rd clip on the compilation away at WBA?

I have a feeling that on that date I was charged for a full tank on my credit card. Probably "Access" in those days. And I definitely didn't travel to that game. By my reckoning you quite possibly owe me for that. Back then a full tank would have cost about £4 11s 7d. Happy to call it £4.50 in today's newfangled money.

Which specific draws are you referring to? oatcakefanzine.proboards.com/thread/252600/round-crystal-palace-stoke-city?page=4My memory didn’t serve me that well as it was just the one poster who said it was prerecorded and that his friend who worked at The One Show, where the draw was shown, had told him we drew Palace half an hour before it was shown on tv. One thing I am positive about though was that I saw the post before it was on tele, it wasn’t a cheekily edited post to look like a smart arse. I’d tag stoke111 in to jog his/her memory but I don’t know how to! The Sheff Weds fan who was there texted me and about 20 others with the draw. They had a fan from each team who shook hands with the opposition they drew. Pretty soon folk realised it wasn't live. They were supposed to surrender their phones pre draw but obviously not all did.

Happy with Hartlepool. Hopefully we will see a start for Tezgel. Maybe we’ll even have Lowe and Redfern on the bench?
I couldn’t really care less about the result, but if he does start Tezgel, I’d hope for a win mostly so he can play again.

I'll hope for a win because I support Stoke Another embarrassment would just increase the negativity understand it's an opportunity to play the young guns Think we can do both

Snow started to come down real heavy. Was only a wee lad and a few cans of Strongbow made me a bit forgetful. A few hundred got off at Grimsby Town station instead of Cleethorpes then another train and a freezing cold walk.

A few hundred got off at Grimsby Town station instead of Cleethorpes then another train and a freezing cold walk. Ah - Strongbow and cold away games. A heady mix. I was part of a group of about eight 14-year-olds that went to Leeds in 72/73, on a Beresford's bus from Leek. I doubt there were more than 16-18 people on the entire bus - including the driver. Leeds away back then was not a pleasant experience, and especially as we were dropped off outside the ground and told by the driver: "Right lads, I'll pick you up here at around 5.00. Don't be late". Sadly he was late, and it wasn't easy to look inconspicuous as lots of Leeds urchins came looking for waifs and strays. However, whatever the risks of getting a kicking, the real danger was hypothermia. It was snowing by this stage. I don't think Beresford's bothered with heaters in any case, but once we did get going, we broke down somewhere over the Pennines - utter desolation. Eventually got back about midnight. I reckon the cider might have saved our bacon. Just in case you were wondering. We lost. Obviously.

We'll beat them, and go on a decent cup run. I can feel it in my water................. Has your water been tampered with by a big nosed bearded man with holes in his wrists?

The great thing about the Grimsby trip back was that the first train was one of those old ones with compartments that was actually warm. If I remember rightly was wearing a t shirt and jeans and snowing rally heavily half way through the game.

They aren’t interested in fa cup shocks It’s all about the viewing figures so the sponsors get their moneys worth 3 Of those are potential shocks It’s the same tired teams on with 2 others thrown in to make up the numbers If Manchester City and Chelsea weren’t drawn together that would be an extra game they’d be on leaving just one other pick
