Balls on plinths for the refs as they come out. Multi-ball system round the pitch. VAR. Load of shit

Plenty of good football out there to be enjoyed, even far down the pyramid.
I've barely watched Premier League football on TV since we got relegated. I've found a new found enjoyment of going and watching random non league football when it doesn't clash with Stoke.

Leeds United with their stupid sock tags eh?
And what does that Alan Ball think he's doing playing in a World Cup wearing white boots?
And this new allowing of a substitute?
Dickie Roos would be spinning in his grave.

Watching the C League you realise how European football is light years ahead of how it was in say the 80s.

Yesterday watched Dereham town away at Halesowen
A few of us supporters left on the players coach just after nine Got there just after one off to the bar near the ground Few pints then into the ground in to the clubhouse few more ales
Sausage bap Kermit’s finger had seen more pork cup of bovril One down after two minutes three down after thirty
Attempted to out sing home support like knitting fog they were superb Second half played better conceded a fourth back in the bar afterwards quick pint before getting on the coach Back around nine
Twelve hour trip four nil defeat gut full of ale a singsong dodgy food a good piss take
There’s life in football yet you’ve just got to search a bit

My biggest gripe is the cheating, and the reality that we might well embrace the dark arts, and how I hope we do. The time wasting, the head injuries that aren’t head injuries, the stopping the flow of the game… … add that to the perceived lack of character from our lot …add to that the money they are on
But as I say, if we became Bournemouth overnight and it worked, I’d be right behind them probably, but I justify that, as I imagine all fans do, with how it feels like we’ve lost so much to this.
I’ll still go though like

Refereeing annoys me. The standard is just dropping like a stone.
The guy yesterday was absolutely atrocious and somehow contrived to make a poor game even worse.

Watching our games in the Championship is really not a result of loving football, because way too many game is about winding the clock down. At every set piece the ball is kicked away, a player on the opposite team is standing in front of the ball, using at least 45 seconds at every throw-in and corner kick, and in addition simulate an injury in every situation when you are in the lead. Even if you have an hour left of the game as well! The refs in this division are way too weak and inconsistent, and why there isn't a stricter line when it comes to this ruins too many games for me. I watch it just because Stoke is playing at the moment, and hardly watch any other Championship games at all. Something needs to be done about the things I mention. I actually think players faking head injuries should be banned for the next game retrospectively. Yellow cards should be given every time a player kicks the ball away after a decision is given, and the same goes for standing in the way so the free kick can't be taken quickly. There hardly are any flowing games any longer, and way too many annoying factors!

I can usually watch football (except Stoke games) without being frustrated but when you start seeing all the shitty tactics to waste time from the 10th minute it’s ridiculous, there’s no way people want to see that crap.

And yet their wages are such off the back of football being a spectacle that people want to watch.
It’s one thing if you watch a game on telly as a neutral snd see some drama, or even seeing a team you dislike take a beating…
But for me, the days of paying good money to see players who do not wish to be involved in an actual game, have to be numbered.
I’ll still go 😬

The Championship now isn't much better than most top flight games growing up.

They introduced VAR now they need to introduce an independent time keeper.
Or maybe it has creeped in because of the pace of the game the players need these mental concentration breaks in play.

Refereeing annoys me. The standard is just dropping like a stone. The guy yesterday was absolutely atrocious and somehow contrived to make a poor game even worse. Seen no comment on the Stoke mfree kick that the Brum player just stood infront of. Ref told us to take the free kick, it hits the Brum player less than a foot away and he gives us a throw in - it’s bloody obstruction man and should be a booking and re-taken free kick

I've been asking myself whether I've grown up and maybe grown out of football, or if it's just modern football.
I love watching old games though. 90s, early 00s, the better years of our Premiership journey. I definitely enjoy watching football.
The current brand of football though.... Not so much. I feel like we're going through the dark days of forgettable uninspiring throwaway football. Where the games (on average) have around 64 mins of actual football played due to time wasting and false injuries etc.
It's like we've swapped a prime steak for a McDonald's hamburger.

Ooh I’m not so sure, 1-0 to the Arsenal and their offside trap. Liverpool, Grobelaar to Hansen to Lawrence to Grobelaar. I’m pretty sure the back pass rule put them into decline for a good twenty years, their whole philosphy was built on the back pass.

It needs a massive overhaul with a timekeeper and a clock that gives you 'x' seconds to use it or lose it.

Blatantly shit refereeing was killing it so they brought in var (but gave it the same wank referees to oversee with predictable results) Time wasting is the next one they need to legislate against. Take it out of the hands of referees who can't even do the resto of their remit properly. The sight of that cunt Ruddy running to the halfway line to high 5 a sub going off and the referee stood there as if it was normal was fucking surreal.

Watching Wrexham v. Oldham in the FA cup match. 2-0 Wrexham first half - I think they could beat us, the way we're playing right now. There's actually completed passes to teammates and crazy stuff like that going on.

I think the referees cannot keep up with the pace of the game and need that mental break to plus they need to be nearly as physically fit as the players.
The game has been pushed to breaking point.
Maybe we need twenty mins of constant play then a five minute in pitch break. Twenty mins of constant play then a fifteen minute changing room break.
Change ends and the same process, twenty mins then a five min pitch break and final whistle plus extra time.
Maybe the ref can be swapped with one who does the scoreboard thingmibob. So we are not burning them out during a game.

It's infuriating the blatent and that's what it is time wasting by players from the kicking the ball away to players standing to take a free kick for 30/45 seconds to then walk away and let a player who is on the other side of pitch amble over yo take it, substitutes not going off at the nearest point and still walking across the pitch even in front of the incompetent referees, and corners not being in the quadrant as seen yesterday, pissing me off.
