I really enjoy watching the champions league and the play offs, from all divisions. Premier league doesn’t excite me anymore apart from the games between the main rivals. Championship football is poor. I try to watch some of the European leagues but it’s probably even more boring. VAR is a mistake and there should definitely be some kind of countdown Stadium clock for set pieces and blatant time wasting

Time wasting is good when we dk it. When other teams do it it's shit It's not. It's shit and it's killing the game as a spectacle. Referees are spineless cunts who won't enforce the rules. It needs a massive overhaul with a timekeeper and a clock that gives you 'x' seconds to use it or lose it. But it's OK when Stoke do it.

Game management is a wank term.

I thought women's football was supposed to be taking off massively after euros. Just seen reports on sky from three grounds, hardly a fan to be seen.🤔

MOTD at the weekend was full of great football and quality goals.
These stupid clichés you see on say You Tube of 'When football was football' and 'imagine players today playing on those pitches' etc can scripted.
I guess is the norm to remember things as they weren't. Going to football in the 80s was crap and so was a lot of the top flight football, grounds and attendances .

rules should be changed that all the ball must be in the quadrant for corners. this ball overhanging the quadrant has spread to penalty taking. Most penalties now, the ball is in advance of the spot with some of the ball overhanging the actual pen. spot. in other words less than 12 yds from the goal.

I think the actual football is better than ever.

I think the actual football is better than ever. Of course it is. Nice to reminisce about old times but the speed, skill and fitness of players now is another level. Apart from Stoke of course😉

Whilst life is too short to care, the football not in the quadrant for corners really boils my piss. Mind you, I also miss baggy goal nets with proper triangular stanchions.

I used to like the old goal nets with character of their own. But the modern box ones are all right. The most distinctive were Wembo. Then they turned box at the start of Euro 96.

Them goals were proper quality, whatever happened to them, even Sunday league teams have got the box net style nets up now. Remember Steino hitting one and it getting stuck in that triangular bit, away game at Exeter or Rotherham rings a bell! Not only had the keeper the indignity of fetching the ball from the net, but plucking it our that section of the stanchion (love that word-very football related!).. Old school floodlights in each corner of the ground aswell, made finding away grounds easier than It can be now. Most stadiums resemble retail park areas now hence actually being located amongst them in most cases of new stadiums!

Balls on plinths for the refs as they come out. Multi-ball system round the pitch. VAR. Load of shit My dad used to say something similar about football in the 1970s. Poeple now look back fondly at that era. Perhaps people will be nostalgic about 2020s football at some point in the 2070s?

The Qatar World Cup, a strange decisions perhaps not entirely based on football (corruption), where the major issue around it now concerns the host countries attitude towards rainbow culture. Im sure there will references to participation, diversity and the carbon footprint of the event. The New England kit is just not nice on the eye and we have gone into the tournament in some really bad form, so we will need a lot of luck to get to the quarter finals or semi finals. Mind you let us take in the Ladies opinions of it all:- www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/63552662
