What a shit player he is. Exactly how he was for us - can't cross, shoot and is deceptively slow.
How fucking Rowett thought this clown was the right fit for us is laughable.
How he got player of the season is still beyond me.

He is but he had the beating of Clarke who couldn’t get anywhere near him.
Thankfully his touch was the usual one of an elephant and his crosses were their usual shite.

However some of us would like to re-write our history, he was the best player for us that season and most people thought that at the time.
He was a poor signing overall, but did very well for us for one season.

Because he was tbf Also tonight he was the only threat Wigan had really? I thought he was shite last night. He had loads of weak clearances, bad controls and kept smashing it out of play.

McClean had moments but overall his quality was still dire. I can’t remember Allen doing anything.

Don’t know if anyone else noticed but most of the Stoke players seemed to go over to him at the end Looked like he was quite popular with them Frankly the hatred is a bit much from Stoke fans. The lad always gave everything playing in a crap side.

He was perfectly fine for us as a player and deserved the POTS, but he wasn't worth anything like what we paid. Not even getting into the other stuff.

I'm stunned he played premier league and international football.

I don’t agree with his politics but I have a grudging respect for his willingness to stand up for them, despite the grief it gets him, in an era where many footballers are devoid of personality, media coached to the point they speak only in platitudes, and overly concerned about curating their social media presence.
If it wasn’t for his politics I think he’d be remembered as a mediocre player that had one good season for us, which is frankly better than most of our signings of the last five years have achieved.
But his politics put him in the role of pantomime villain so there’s a degree of revisionism from some of our fans who can’t bear to admit he was ever anything other than awful.

My memory of him, chasing down the ball to win the corner that he took and we scored against Sheff Wed winning 3-2 deep into injury time with the most prolific striker we ever had in Volkes.
Thats it that is my only memory of him because of the brilliant injury time come back from 1-2 down to win on Boxing Day 2019

Having met him on a couple of occassion's I only have positive things to say about James McClean. He's a really nice bloke. The racist abuse, vitriol & anti IRA chants that he receives are probably from the same moron's that boo the taking of the knee. He was absolutely right in what he said about a certain section of fans. That's the very issue. They are uneducated and my guess is, they haven't got a clue what they're chanting or booing aboput.

He was mentally very strong but a very very average footballer. He did well the season he got POTS because it was backs to the wall and he thrives on that. Apart from that season, and in general, I thought he was a crap footballer
