For some. He’s been shit so he’s being criticised, and that’s fair His lack of tracking back is being criticised and some including me don't think that's his best game. Other issues may be true but I'm afraid I don't agree that he should try and turn into Jacob Brown.

I’m not really that fussed about tracking back, he needs to defend from the front as the manager demands and show for the ball when we have possession. He just seems lazy to me

Despite of his pace and occasional goal, I'm really starting to doubt if Campbell ever will become a Premiership striker. Right now his first touch on the ball is on par with Brown's in his first season here. His defensive work is also way off good enough, and his decision making isn't much better. I know he is fairly young yet, but on the other hand he is around Håland's age to put it into perspective. If you are going to compare any player with Haaland at the same age then they are all going to seem pretty crap. anyway, where are the threads about all the other players who were at fault for their goals??

He's shit every time he plays up front. He's much better from wide right. Down to the manager selections been poor last two games

Lot better player when he's on the wing. Why did he change formation today? Against Sheffield & Preston played 3 up front, with Campbell & Foz on wings and we far better going forward. Playing two up top never seems work with players we've got.

It's more about having such a high hope for Tyrese before the injury, but despite getting his speed back I really can't see him developping to the player I was sure he would. I actually think he has gone backwards to be honest, and as I say I'm starting to doubt if he ever will be a Premiership player.

But I don’t understand what the coaching staff are seeing that we aren’t. 5 at the back doesn’t work for us.

When you're out of form the first rule is to try twice as hard. Really worrying watching him at the moment, his value is dropping like a stone. Brown should start ahead of him I should start ahead of him and I’m 55 😂

It sets the tone I’ll leave it, can’t be arsed close him down, he won’t create anything, there are 8 others that will mask over me not doing my job. Bullshit That mentality doesn’t work in under 11s never mind mind professional football You are working under the misapprehension that closing him down would have avoided the absolute shit show that then unfolded No I’m not

Utterly bizarre that anyone can look at the first goal and come to the conclusion that they need to start a thread about Campbells involvement. The first goal was a disaster from Wilmott, completely had a brain fart and charged forward. Laurent & Baker don’t do much either to try and close the massive hole in the middle of our midfield either. People can’t wait to get on Campbells back, I agree he was poor today & can have no arguments about being hooked, but as soon as he mis controls one ball you can sense a good chunk already chomping at the bit to get on his back. Campbell is much more effective when he has space, so at home he either needs to play wide, or more effective up top away from home where we look to counter. He really does need to work on his touch, but having half a stadium on his back is hardly helpful to the lad. It isn’t And the stadium were not on his back. It’s a comment based on reflection. After the event, so not a contributing factor to his performance. Maybe his performance is a contributing factor in most peoples opinions however.

The system we play isn't designed to get the best out of Campbell

Campbell gets some ridiculous stick on here, he's a striker who should be playing right up with their CBs, he's not the type of player who is going to track back and cover at RB and neither should he be, it would make him utterly ineffective at the other end. You can't have an entire team like that of course, but not everybody needs to be running around like a headless chicken. He was played as a striker today, right up on their centre backs. How many problems did he give them? Good defence starts with your strikers keeping the ball and pushing the defence back. If a striker fails to keep the ball he has a duty to try to win it back at least in the opposition half. Compare with Powell who, when playing striker, was the player who got back to put a challenge in on the edge of our area after a Coventry break. I'm fed up of hearing that talented players can't be expected to carry out any defensive duties for the team because they have to conserve their energy for our attacks. How come Wilmot has scored 3 goals this season, more than our strike force in total. Surely his job is just to defend?

The bloke was fucking abject yesterday, and nobody is asking him to run around like a headless chicken. You play him up against a centre half and the ball will be coming straight back at you. When he jumps he can't get his feet above 6" off the ground.Play it to his feet and he can't even get the ball under control. How you can defend him when he plays like he did yesterday is beyond me.

Bursik gets crucified for his kicking, even yesterday when I thought apart from one occasion it was OK, not brilliant but OK. However virtually all his kicking is done under pressure from a player rushing at him. Opposition gk's get a free ride on kicking when Brown isn't on. The Rotherham keeper was allowed to bounce the ball about twenty times every time he had it in his hands while Stoke players just stood and waited. It's embarrassing how little pressure our forwards put on goalkeepers and defenders allowing them to pick a pass like yesterday. .

Another player more suited to games where we're less likely to dominate possession. He simply has to adapt his game to be more efficient in tight spaces.
Very frustrating to watch and his limitations make him an average championship player right now. If he could develop his weaknesses and then continue to play to his strengths, he would be a premier League footballer.

Not sure his all round game is good enough for The Prem.

He seems to me to be frightened of injuring himself again. Which is understandable really. But no good to the team. He hesitates in the tackle & won't stretch for the ball. He lets the defender have it at the end of his runs. He needs his head sorting out to give him a more positive attitude. As I said, I think that his hesitation is due to the bad injury that he had, & the length of time he was out. He needs resting for a while, to let the medics sort him out.

Brown can score, but couldn't trap a bag of cement.
Campbell can score, but looks lazy.
Gayle used to score, but now plays for Stoke.
Delap will score loads , but not with us.
That's our 4 main strikers, ever likely we are where we are.
