Anyone interpreting it as that is a very silly Billy though aren’t they? But you can see why - is my point. No it’s ridiculous.

Not really, if people are choosing to wrongly interpret something I don't see how the club is to blame for that? Should they cut their nose off to spite their face so dullards aren't given an excuse to get outraged over nothing?

A recommendation for the lads in Dubai, if you haven't seen the scantily clad girls in the Barista Beach Bar then you should have done.
I think it's going take something like this to inject some much needed va-va-voom in to this tepid season.

'Warm weather training'
But it will be winter when the season restarts, am I missing something...? I'm nit a smart man, but shouldn't it be inclement weather training?

I’ve an idea. Maybe they should train on scoring goals and stopping the opposition doing the same. I think I might be onto something here

I think it's fine to go and do some training. But how the social media team handles the trip needs some thought. Anything other than exhausted misery on any player's face will be deemed as proof the squad is on a jolly by fans who have interpreted crap performances as 'not caring' etc. To be clear it's a perfectly understandable interpretation. I just think it's more because we're crap, so any training might improve things!

No issue with warm weather training par se
Though it gives those looking to knock the club further ammo ( when none is needed) …, so as Apb says above reporting needs careful consideration , especially given it’ll be party central there due to being a satellite hub for the WC ..managing players downtime likely to be more difficult than normal…I’d have maybe suggested a different destination ..Spain / Portugal
Hopefully given the number of clubs that will be there Stoke have secured exclusive rights to their first choice training facilities
PS TP did indeed take the team to the marines training camp during an international break , he also took them UAE ( Ajman ) starting the clubs use of the UAE as our warm weather training destination of choice

It’s bloody hot there even this time of year. The rest of the time will be spent by the pool and relaxing. I was there this time last year and it was bloody freezing when we got back and it took a week to acclimatise and the missus caught covid on the plane back!

How is training in lovely warm weather followed by slouching around the side of a pool in Gucci slides is going to prepare them to play games back home throughout winter? Genuinely interested in how/why 'warm weather winter training' helps.
Royal Marines are taught to drag themselves through water filled pipes and to shit in a ditch to prepare them for a professional life of massages and water slides? Er...

But perception is important and if one thing was calculated to do people's heads in it would be wacky interviews by the aforementioned pool, who's got the worst trunks etc More content like this - 20 seconds in gives an idea.

Not sure if its been said but seems as though Josh Laurent has taken his family with him...
Jolly indeed...
Given the other recent comments about Ricky Martin coming in to 'hold standards' across all aspects of the club it sounds as dire as we all thought
We've still not learnt from the carnage at the end of TPs tenure (pig gate) and the utter circus at the end of Hughes (berahino/wimmer/Jese/Imbula) and the repeated utter breakdown in a discipline and people who care
I don't for one second think we're there yet but its a worrying trend. From the outside looking in I get the impression the board arent setting the bar (still) and its not being met across the club (Commercial/Academy/First Team/Community) things have negligibly improved in over a decade, other than i'd say the academy that has probably reached the standard we should expect for a club like ours.

I presume he's gone for a holiday - they have a few days off before the training bit. Still crass to post like that on IG when we're in the mud.

I was there this time last year and it was bloody freezing when we got back and it took a week to acclimatise and the missus caught covid on the plane back! This is exactly what I've been thinking. Pleasant warm weather and surroundings to train in for a few days and then come back to the rain and cold weather to begin playing footy again, I just see that as demotivating. Players used to get rewarded trips to these kind of places after a successful season as a reward. Now it seems the norm. & as its the case that most clubs I'm the Prem and The Championship are doing the same I don't see how we'll even be gaining any meaningful advantage over our rivals! As has been eluded to, training on scoring and preventing opposition scoring is our only requirements right now. As the squad is almost complete with few absences, get playing friendlies against lower league opposition over here and work on the basics that we seem to have forgotten about.. That's what fans want to see and would appreciate far more than training in hotter conditions which will undoubtedly be accompanied by pampering and luxury in their downtime!

It sums up how the club is at the moment. Out of touch with reality and certainly the fan base. It’s a paid holiday in the sun. More players out due to sunburn and sunstroke

Some of the benefits do not give you a steer on other teams, but its relative benefits make sense. I'd still give our lot a collective kick up the arse, albeit in warmer climbs. Details not yet announced , however from AN comments .. They’ll have have a week ( or so ) off Then go to Dubai for a week ( or so ) precise departure & return dates not yet announced , where they’ll play a game towards the end of the week ( details not yet announced , unknown if public or BCD ) They’ll then return to England , train for a week Then 2nd week back they’ll play two games ( details not yet announced dates , unknown if public or BCD ) Before resuming the season on Sat 10 Dec v Cardiff ( home ) So possibly 3 games , 1 in Dubai with 2 elsewhere . I Intend to go Dubai and indeed the other 2 games if games aren’t BCD ..hopefully info will be released asap, as not unexpectedly flights prices are starting to raise It should be remembered that the u21s have scheduled fixtures during the break .and some clubs may utilise them to give some players minutes

I see on IG this morning, that Connor Taylor is in New York, and Ben Wilmot in Philadelphia. Harry Clarke looks nice and relaxed playing golf somewhere nice and sunny 👀
