Bit of perspective. He’s literally just stepped through the door. Of course perspective is needed and that's why I rated him a 6 which I felt is fair. Especially given the injuries. But this is a Swansea side that's difficult to lose against. So I don't think escaping the Jaws of defeat in stoppage time is something to celebrate. It wasn't a great performance and we need to be doing alot better. Let's call a spade a spade. As I said he’s just arrived. Give him a couple of weeks and let’s see then.

I'm very interested to see where he takes the team in the short and medium term. Not quite convinced we have the tools to play the high octane game we were trying but time will tell. The late goal is a very good early sign though. Not fit enough for a start, but we looked pretty good doing it for the first 40 minutes. Much better than watching us plod around passing sideways anyway. I'm really intrigued to see what he can do with this group. Agree, fitness is an early issue and of course our injured players. Late goals are a great habit to get into though.

The quality was very poor and Swansea generally outplayed us, but I sense a definite change of attitude in our players and a sense of urgency. Taylor has impressed so far this season but I suspect there will be a different pair of CBs for the next match, Taylor had his first 'mare.
Neil has a lot of work to do to get the squad playing as a team; defending was abysmal, passing was poor, and finishing dire. But I like to see a manager on the touchline barking out orders. I've no doubt changes will be made and have confidence they will be for the better.

It was so much better.
I think the main difference may have just been the fans. People had given up on MoN. Barely anyone cared. That felt different tonight.

It's amazing what you can pick up in two days.
Pressing.
High octane running for 90 mins.
Aiming set pieces at the big lump you signed specifically to aim set pieces at, instead of ignoring him.
Forward passing.
Attitude.
Tempo.
On a different note, what an outstanding footballer Jacob Brown is.

I'm very disappointed with the outcome.
We really have to be beating a side who have won 1 in the last 13 when we are playing at home in a night match if we are to have any chance at all of making an impact on the league table at the business end of the season.
Clearly to snatch a draw from the jaws of defeat right at the death is very welcome but it is not at all where we need to be.
I'm not looking at it from a MON or an AN perspective, its way too soon for that, but just simply as someone who wants us to do well.
In the post-match interview AN blames it on 5 key players being injured and several of our boys being 'dead on their feet'.

Pleasing and worrying in equal measure, resulting in a fairly open, entertaining game. It looked like what it was, a game managed by a bloke who’s been here two minutes trying to give players a chance. Going forward we could be really good, but we’ll concede bucket loads if there’s the approach going forward, which I don’t think it will be.

Fosu will be right back at Reading with Wilmot playing alongside Flint on Sunday in my opinion Which is madness. He ain’t a right back. We either need to sign one or get Edwards back pronto. Fosu needs to be used where he’s only a danger to the opposition.

Considering Alex only had 2 days to prepare I enjoyed it haven't seen 20 attempts on goal in awhile was end to end at times, give him a few weeks put his own stamp and see where we go To be fair to MON we had 20 attempts against both Blackpool and Huddersfield too.

Felt we got the ball forward quicker than the previous manager which is a start Couldn't disagree more... We were WAY too slow getting the ball forward (unless it was one of the many aimless hoofs forward to nobody in the first half) the midfield was non existent, we were sat way too deep with a huge gap in theiddle of the park. Neil has had a day and a half with the players so I want expecting a miracle by any stretch of the imagination, and it's clear that there are alot of bad habits that need to be knocked out of the players. All in all, I Don't think tonight was any more entertaining that what we have seen previously IMHO.

I enjoyed the game - very open end to end stuff. Swansea held on to the ball better than us but we looked to get the ball forward quicker than we have done although going longer inevitably reduced our ability to keep possession.
I really can't see why there are so many having a downer on that game - it's almost like people expected a change of manager and going 4 at the back would actually make a massive difference. We'll go backwards before we go forwards but I'll take whatever positives there are while we (hopefully) get our new act together/apply the Tipex to the O'Neill Out banners.

I like the look of Fosu, his instinct is to take the ball forward, that's refreshing for a start

I am giving him a chance and with a full strength team I have every confidence we will be one of the best teams in the league. I'm just saying I don't think we played particularly well and that it was a poor result. This was more entertaining for me.

I think the main priority is to get the ball moving more quickly. We are so slow and ponderous that by the time we've made the pass its already been intercepted. Learning to pass accurately as well would be a great asset. Every game we get too many sloppy passes gifting the initiative to the opposition

We will save the Campbell debate for another thread perhaps but for me you play your best goalscorer and he's our best by a mile. But he's more than that, his pace is a headache for defenders and he's got good vision as well, something Brown sadly lacks. The ball he played for Delap was a beauty and Delap should have scored.

I enjoyed the game too. Just a pity we didn't get that early goal, it would meant we were not chasing the game, but that's pretty obvious
