Poor touch and no pace Just young aggression that will fade when he’s running around like a headless chicken Not a finisher and see a recall in a couple of months when not in/ scoring etc. Just a pity there’s not a few more who could be recalled Thanks Michael

He was marked very tightly last night - possibly needs find a bit more room for himself and move the centre halves round a bit more

Maybe he decided to stay after he realised he's going to see a lot more of the ball with this manager, and will have a better chance of scoring some goals. He should have done better with his chance tonight. He's on a season long loan. Not a case of deciding to stay I realise this. I was just trying to make a point really. i.e why would he be getting his knickers in a twist when he's going to be working with a manager who will probably set up better attacking options for him (imho)

Clearly got talent, last night would have been a learning for him he was schooled by their no.23 at times. Some promising signs though......

We haven’t created many chances for him to show his finishing. He had a chance from a Campbell cut back last night and it was well blocked.

He would of course have realised that MON might not last the pace. Perhaps a bit longer than he did of course.

Christopher Lillicrap would be proud of that. Whatever you say mate but that’s what I was told, I was told he’d signed a week before it was announced and that was rubbished too. 🙃 He wasn't signed a week before he 'signed', as you put it.

He was easily the strongest bloke on the pitch last night. Retrieved the ball off their defenders where they were heavy favourites numerous times. His strength is absolutely superb. Haven’t seen that sort of strength seen Fuller or Arnie. He needs to fine tune his passing and runs but he looks very very good.

Needs to get a bit more clever when he puts himself about. Not very subtle when he's battling with the defenders.

There's a really good player in there somewhere.
Wonder where he'll end up? Presumably won't realistically get a proper look in at City, but he'll certainly be in the Prem for most of his career.

Both Delap & Gayle will score freely once they can get off the mark.
Let's hope it's sooner rather than later.

Just needs a goal to get him going (like Gayle).
Played a bit too high on Wednesday and needed to drop back a touch deeper, just how the game was. He was completely mauled by their defenders all game so needed to give himself a bit of space.

Same with all good strikers, if the rest of the team are playing well they'll score goals.

literally not in the same league as haaland , which explains why he is here
For me , i like him , works hard , is hard , puts himself about , fears no one ...only good defending deflected his swansea effort over
Not quite there , but very nearly there
Keep the faith and i am sure he will good

The goals will come.
Already starting to show some positive signs in the build up and link up play and was unlucky not to score against Swansea after being involved in a good move (good block from the defender to send it over).
As others have said, he’s got a physical presence & not afraid to use it. Still learning but I think he’s getting up to speed quickly and we’re going to benefit from it.

Looks like a Premier League player already to me.
Strength and touch is sublime, and his ball over to Gayle was top.
Him and Campbell need to get some game time together, could be something special if we can get the ball to them.

Him and Campbell need to get some game time together, could be something special if we can get the ball to them. Campbell, Delap, Gayle as a front three is terrifyingly good if they’re all on song. Tymon will have a field day with them all looking to get on the end of crosses. If Sterling lives up to the hype too I think we’re sorted from an attacking perspective when everyone is fit.

Delap will be a top player, the problem he has at Stoke, so far, is that he hasn't received a decent pass from a team mate. The closest was the cut back from Ty, but he was already being closed down.
Everything else he has had to create for himself. Nice turn on the touchline first half too
He probably does need to curb his enthusiasm a bit with the physical stuff as not all refs would be so forgiving, albeit Wednesday's ref also allowed their players to climb all over him, so he could hardly complain when Liam gave 'em some back

When there’s strikers scoring goals, And you want them shooting blanks, Who you gonna call? Goalbusters
Only Stoke could take a bloke who couldn’t stop scoring last time he played in this godforsaken division and a kid who has scored freely at every level he’s played.
And get zero goals.
We can literally turn gold into shit.
PS I rate both players.
