Still not convinced.
Has has the same kind of effect on us as when Manure signed Ronaldo. But we don’t have £250m to spend our way out and we are stuck with him.
He has no idea how to play with other attacking players. There is no genuine football brain there.

He is abjectly hopeless at this a level

If he gets anywhere near the Man City first XI at any point in the next few years it will be a miracle….

Disappointing, to say the least. He can run around, throwing his weight around, all he likes in the U23 but he isn’t strong enough for this level. Coupled with his limited footballing ability, the messiah has definitely not come.

He is one of the most brainless footballers Ive seen at Stoke.
There is no way he will make it at Man City.

Delap is exactly what he says on the tin. A young lad learning his trade in the man’s game.
I don’t believe Harry Kane set the world alight in the championship.
If he was a Stoke player you’d accommodate him as an impact player coming on if ever we should be 2-0 up to assist his development. As it is he’s a Man City player who probably has some level of minimum minutes written into his loan agreement, who is being relied upon as one of our main striking options and here in lies the problem.

Raw but to be honest he's been very disappointing. As others have said lacks intelligence. I'm also surprised how poor his touch is coming from Man City. He'll develop but I can't see him doing anything in The Prem.
We don't have one decent forward on the books.

There maybe a Division One player in there somewhere. Maybe a future Championship player with a lot of coaching and perseverance. Can’t see anything else.

I’d send him back he’s just not ready. I was expecting way more. He gets penalised way too much and doesn’t offer much at all technically. We need a striker like there’s quick, strong, energetic and scores occasionaly.

He's very naive and not benefitting the teamas I've said on another thread we are not here to develop players for other clubs

Hasn’t got a prayer of making it at Man City. I don’t understand the loan from a Man City perspective. Ok so no Championship could play anything like Man City, but Stoke aren’t even close. He either gets played wide or we go long ball to him, neither of which are aiding his development towards one day being a Man City player. It’s only who his father is that keeps some fans on side.

I'd send him back he's not worked out for us and we need a replacement in Jan.

Got to admit, I knew sweet fa about him before coming to Stoke, other than his name that is... I went off all the hype that surrounded him on here.... Sorry folks, but how can so many be so wrong!!!

Its just not working out, he needs to go back to Man City and then be loaned out to a lower league club - probably Stoke next season the way we are performing.

Needs to drop down a division.
Then again it could be with us if we had him again next season.

He's very naive and not benefitting the teamas I've said on another thread we are not here to develop players for other clubs I agree with you quite right. But I don't expect Man City will agree with you, or Southampton ref Smallbone or Arsenal? ref Clarke etcetera.

He might well have the talent in the world & be lethal in U21 or whatever
However at the moment he has the ability of the last Man City attacking option we had....John Guidetti

He’s very good at jumping into defenders because he’s scared of challenging for a header.
Apart from that he’s absolute toss.

If Delap is poor, what is Smallbone?
I said from the first time I saw him play that he isn’t going to last in a competitive league. Far too slow and weak.
Isn’t he highly rated at Soton?

You speak to Pep on a regular basis I take it? Liam Delap will not make 30 appearances as a Manchester City Forward. He may well be sold to someone like a Leicester City- but again, tell me what you have seen that leads YOU to believe he is an England certainty?

Didn’t Man City turn down 20mill from Southampton for him? Their Head of Recruitment should be sacked for even considering it. I now wish they had bought him. Can you imagine the exasperated look on NJ’s face trying to get a tune out of Delap and just watching him lard around the pitch every week like some pissed up doofus on the dance floor crashing into everyone.
