Hooray! A year too late but better late than never!
Appointment is absolutely critical for the future of the club. The harsh reality is we don't have a squad blessed with heaps of talent so whoever comes in will have to be able to get the best out of them.
Exciting times.

I'm happy that it's happened before he got the full treatment from the fans. Best of luck in the future Michael.

The injury to the wing backs was the final nail in the coffin, I personally would have kept faith for a while longer as I still think we could have turned it round, the Sunderland and Huddersfield games could have quite easily gone the other way if we’d taken our chances……. Really hope they haven’t pulled the trigger without sorting a replacement again. They have had conversations with a manager already in work.

The right decision made far far too late. Should’ve done it after end of season

Just imagining the hilarity of trying for Rob Page. Vale to Stoke via Wales. Don’t joke. surely he’s nailed on for the Wales job isn’t he?

I'm convinced we've waited until Delap signed before sacking him.

We will know if his sacking was a good one, when we find out who is coming in.

He has got to go too.

We will know if his sacking was a good one, when we find out who is coming in. They're two different things. Appointing Jones didn't mean we were wrong to sack Rowett, for example.

I'm convinced we've waited until Delap signed before sacking him. This is what I’ve been thinking too. I’m curious about why there’s so much enthusiasm abroad for Carrick. What evidence is there to suggest he’d be a good Championship manager? The Shit haven’t exactly given the impression of being a well coached team in recent years either…

Wow… I mean just, wow, wow, wow!!
I’m actually more surprised than when Mad Nath finally got the push, because where you could see it coming with NJ I honestly thought the Coates would keep MON till summer to avoid a payout.
So that’s it… he’s finally gone and not too soon. He lost the plot, but can we all please give this man thanks for saving us from complete oblivion in his first half season cos if we’d gone down to League One, we’d have been there longer than the last time we were there I’m very sure of that.
No doubt MON will be another who learns from his mistakes here and takes another club to the playoffs with a firebrand 4-3-3!

They have had conversations with a manager already in work. interesting Rooney fits that description as does Farke if we are poaching a lower division manager have no idea who that could be is Wilder still unhappy at Boro?

There is no way they’ve sacked him without some major drama happening behind the scenes, seasons just started and we’re most the way through a transfer window, it’s just not how we do things at Stoke
MON is a good bloke and he did a job for us keeping us up when the shit was really starting to hit the fan, I’m definitely pleased though, I’ll save the balloons and party poppers until the next one is announced though 😂

Brilliant news. It should have been last season he should have went...
Next appointment got to be right.
TP wonder if he will be spoken to this time. Dean Holden has to go and others. New manager and a new start it should be for everyone.

The Shit haven’t exactly given the impression of being a well coached team in recent years either… Took charge of 3 games between OGS and Ralph appointment. Best Villareal and Arsenal and drew with Chelsea in a period the club were doing very badly. Pretty sure they lost to Watford and others prior to OGS being sacked. The thing is Kieran McKenna was always the one being credited as being the brains behind the operation at United and the tactician. And he's done very well at Ipswich too. Either appointment could be good but both are still very unproven. So there's a risk to it.
