He appears to be an excellent acquisition, I thought he looked very useful on Saturday, if he carries on in this vein then he will prove to be a very useful player for us. Good physicality and also a very good shot on him. He missed scoring by a whisker and boy did he hit the ball hard with virtually no backlift. Keep it up son! Who needs Joe Allen!?!

Agree, did Joe Allen's job in a lot more disciplined and calmer fashion.

Absolute tank and bulldog. Love that he bullies people off the ball.

Looks like we've finally got some physicality in the middle.

Good signs so far, thought he did relatively well against Millwall too. Is he someone who could play further forward if you bring Thompson or Kilkenny in?

Definitely..I was just making a similar point on another thread. From what i remember Reading fans were saying he may very well have that potential in his locker.

I didn’t realise until Saturday what an impressive specimen he is very strong but athletic great ingredients to start off with. Also didn’t realise how small Kilkenny is, it’s far more obvious in real life than on tv don’t know why.

I really liked his performance on Saturday.
Won the ball nicely, got around the pitch and linked the play.

Our midfield has looked 100% better since getting Rid of Joe Allen, who'd have thought it eh? 😂

Have Laurent and Baker and enforcers in the middle of the park, with Smallbone being the creative influence, we aren’t far away from having a very good first choice midfield.

We've needed a physical presence at CDM for ages. Hopefully he's the one.

That's the easiest game I've seen our midfield play in years and they didn't get out of second gear.

Think we really missed him today. Its not just his defensive work you miss but it's the attacking play too, he likes to carry the ball forward and push the team up the pitch.
Hopefully he will be back Saturday.

Hopefully he will be back Saturday. When the replacement is Clucas, it’s hard not to miss him. I think he does a pretty decent slide tackle to be honest and is fairly good at making interceptions. Hope he gets fit soon.

Missed him massively today.
I was more aggressive opening my monster munch at lunchtime then our midfield tonight.

O'Neill: "Tymon will be out for four to six weeks. Laurent will be out for six to eight weeks. Powell will hopefully be back in two to three weeks. Souttar will probably be out until October. Clarke will be six weeks."
