Athletics, do you follow it?
It's broadcasted during nightime since it takes place in Oregon USA.
I will have my eyes open for Duplantis and Sagnia.

It used to be on all day/night. Also used to show all the Diamond League meetings. I only knew it was on when I was trawling the internet today! For us, Dina Asher Smith set the fastest qualifying time in the 100m heats earlier so hopefully she’s coming into form just at the right time.

I follow it, but it's difficult to find a schedule with UK times, which is shocking. And rather than a proper highlights programme, the early hours live programme is just repeated a few hours later.
I found it difficult to find out when the women's 100m and 200m are scheduled at the upcoming Commonwealth Games, with only the men's events listed by default on the official website. Shocking again. I lost the will to buy tickets in the end.
I don't get why athletics isn't more popular or pushed more. Running as fast as you can or jumping/throwing as far etc. is the purest form of sport (although the new technology in running shoes might have changed that a bit). Maybe the sport relied on Usain Bolt too much instead of capitalising on his brilliance.
Also why wasn't the stadium full for the men's final today? A 1-2-3 for the US as well. The population of Eugene, Oregon is only around 170,000, which I don't think is much more than the town I'm from. Why is it held there?
On a positive note, Dina Asher-Smith looks in good form indeed. I can't see her placing higher than silver medal in the Worlds 100m or 200m, but there's a chance of gold! I'll be tuning in for the repeat of the 100m (it's live at around 3:30am) final tomorrow.

The BBC are covering it and mainly watching through iplayer due to timelines. It started off low key and as mentioned poor crowd turn out. We are going down to the Commonwealth games at start of August. Duplantis is a talent and have seen him s couple of times hope he wins gold 6.10m+ would be great.

I used to enjoy this but this one has really snuck under my radar.
Do we have medal contenders? Not on the mens side anymore I don't think, we may have a couple of femmes in the frame.
British athletics seems to be in a real mess.
Guess we might pick something up in the relays at the end.

Prescod And Hughes didn't really get close to the final.

I think that’s a generational thing. Kids from the eighties probs bang on about Daley Thompson, Seb Coe etc. More recently, Mo Farah and Jess Ennis. But it’s a shame that the UK doesn’t really have any ‘stars’ at the moment.

Dina Asher Smith is the "star" of British Athletics you'd say and she seems a really nice person. Other than that though, there really isn't anyone I can think of that falls into that category.

A shame for Dina Asher-Smith in 4th place, but equalling her British record after the injury issues she had a month ago is probably the best anyone but her expected.
Josh Kerr is looking good for GB in the 1500m final coming up tonight/tomorrow. That should be a fun race.

A cracking bronze from Laura Muir, especially considering she only came back from a 2-month injury 3 months ago.
The men's and women's 200m are looking very competitive. It's a shame Adam Gemili didn't get through the first round, but I thought his criticisms of the media were spot on, and it's a shame he feels the need to apologise.
The women's triple jump was fun - Rojas won it by a mile, but she's very flamboyant. Seems like the kind of person who could be a big world star if Athletics got its act together a bit.
I don't like this giving of medals straight after the race/event. That'll be the American influence of course.
I thought the men's 1500m was today also, but it turns out that'll be tomorrow (or tonight UK-time if you count the early hours as tonight).
