I haven't been watching the stages of the womens race but I've seen the crashes. It all looks a bit scary. I'm surprised there hasn't been any really serious injuries.

The Frain crash (train crash?) was made worse by her changing her version of events when she had seemingly been made aware of how terrible it was. In sad news, Mas is out of the Vuelta. I may take 3 weeks off work just to enjoy that fact. Vlasov is in now too. How many are racing for the win and how many are on ‘Resurrect the season/punishment duty/tuning up for the World’s’ is always a fun game to play.

I think your "love" of Mas comes fairly close to mine of good old Nairo ! Knowing how much I absolutely detest Quintana I'd say your's is probably about 8/10 compared to my 10/10

Knowing how much I absolutely detest Quintana I'd say your's is probably about 8/10 compared to my 10/10 At least Quintana has won a couple of GT’s. Mas has won one stage race; The Tour of Guangxi. Both are frustrating in different ways. Quintana is a rider whose only hope of putting rivals in trouble is to attack, but he is wildly inconsistent and the attacks seem to be quite scarce now. Mas is a conservative rider who shows such unwillingness (inability?) to make that push for victory that he drives me loopy. Sits in the wheels and sits and sits. Probably a victim of the big Movistar book of tactics, where all the pages are blank. Have you seen the Netflix documentary on Movistar? The management seems to involve letting Alejandro do what he wants (I agree with that) and the remainder is a focus on the riders showing balls.

We don't have Netflix so I haven't seen the Movistar documentary.

Will there be enough interest to get a Vuelta thread going? Alaphilippe is schedule to ride now (but tested positive for COViD yesterday and withdrew from the Tour of Wallonie.) Pogacar is now removed from the UAE start list, but that was never going to happen anyway. Roglic is touch and go due to his injuries but I can rest easy because Mas will be there and Deeside can do similar because Quintana is too… Get teenagefanclub to rename the thread. Save doing a new thread

Thanks teenagefanclub for changing the thread title and for being named after one of my favourite bands too!
Cav added to the Vuelta start list! Stages 2 and 3 are pretty pan flat too…

Grand Prix was a bloody good album.

Let me get this straight then, just for clarity. We get gubbed in the season opener, look bloody awful, regression rather than progression and optimism vanishing before it has even started. I then see that Mas is back on the Vuelta start list and Cavendish is now out of the race. Fuck. My. Life.
Moxey out.

Dire stuff yesterday - things have to change fast in ST5, preferably with a new manager ! Looks like Enric's made a special effort for you ! If he's been in and out of the start list already, how long is he going to stay in the race for, and how "competitive" will he be ? It's a shame that Cav is out.
