My daughter has been raving about air fryers and finally persuaded me I should have one.
So, it arrived today and will get its first outing this evening when I’ll make some seasoned chips.
Any of you folks got one?
How are you finding it?
Any recipe ideas?

Never cooked anything else in mine though

Brilliant for chucking frozen sausages in for a quick fuss free sandwich.
Handy also for chicken nuggets and such like, bit of salad and a couple of tortillas, ideal for a quick snack.
Chips I've found so-so, usually deep fry them in peanut oil tho and air fried chips seem a poor substitute.

Best cooking invention since... I got one about 3 month ago and I use it about 80% of the time now. Perfect chicken and chicken wings and the best sausages/bratwurst. Haven't tried bacon. I have the Ninja Max.

My lady bought one. I'm not sure I get them. Food we cook in them pretty much cooks at the same speed and temperature as the fan assisted oven. The end result is pretty much the same.
They are essentially just a mini version of them.

We have one of them and it's great, does so much and fits a whole chicken in too.
On the plus side, cooks quicker and used way less energy than the oven

Nom😀 Squirrel 🐿 is very nice in a curry , the best ones to eat are the kind you find in the woods and not the ones that you find in the garden, and obviously grey not red

Suppose it depends on the type you have, we had a cheaper one before that didn't really do much and the results weren't great all the time. We have one now that has a load of functions and also doubles as a pressure cooker (the make is Ninja) it's fantastic and cooks everything we throw at it really well. But it was a bit expensive at around £200 or so. Since buying it before Xmas, I have only used the oven a handful of times for things that won't fit

I've also got a Ninja and love it!
With fries, stir them often and they come out perfect.
A new favourite of mine. Wayne Walker do peppered pork steak, 8 for £6. I cook them for 20 minutes on 170, turning half way... You won't be disappointed!

I got mine from The Range about 5-6 years ago. Called the KitchenMaster it was reduced to 49.99 and I figured well, if I get a year out of it and it's decent, I'll buy a proper one.
Still using it regularly. What a great piece of kit and I'd happily recommend another cheap one. I've done loads of different stuff in mine. Even did a while chicken once although I did have to break it's legs lol

I've had a few over the years, a Breville one first up that was excellent, then a cheaper Tower one to replace it - that wasn't so good
We took the plunge last Black Friday and bought a proper Ninja Foodie - it was £160 (from £210) in the sale
Its amazing
Air Fryer function is absolutely bang on, chips (freshly cut, put in a bowl drizzle of olive oil and salt, give them a stir and cook for 20 mins) taste like deep fryer ones, if you buy McCain frozen French fries, they cook in 13 mins and taste like McDs fries, Chicken Nuggets/Dippers, Sausage, Baked Potatoes - all come out a treat I reheated slices of Sunday roast beef in ours last Monday having seen it on the web, they came out hot, still tender and moist, and tasty in 4-5 mins!
The Slow Cook function is mint for beef/lamb - simply cover with stock, add some veg if wanted, and stick the timer on for 4 hours, and it keeps it warm for you when it finishes - anything like stew, lobby, soup can all be cooked this way
It does loads more too!
There is a lady on YouTube who cooks pretty much everything in hers (American), and shows you how to do it - there is one where she does jacket potatoes using different methods (pressure cook and air fry vs complete air fry) and reviews what comes out!
It can roast (not tried yet), pressure cook (a whole chicken in 45 mins, then air fry to crisp up the skin!)

Sent mine back due to chips always too dry despite adding oil. Back to good old fashioned chip pan, though only use once a week if that.

Do they smell? Are they smoky? Depends on which you buy I dont find the Ninja too bad at all - deffo less smelly and greasy than a deep fryer or the oven on.

Finally got one and wondering if they’re as good as everyone is making out ie cook food quicker and far cheaper to run versus a normal cooker.
I did a toastie at dinner using salt and pepper cob bread and a filling with gammon and Cheshire cheese, as per google sprayed the bread with olive oil and it was rather underwhelming compared to the google picture.

Think it depends on a number of things: - Brand/Model as some are alot more advanced than others. - What you're cooking in it etc.. - What prep you use. For me I've got a tefal one and I wasn't too fussed on it for things like chicken, just tasted a bit rubbery to me. What I do love mine for though is chips and toasties. I'm lazy and alot of the time they're just frozen. But they cook so much quicker than the oven chips do and they come out nice and crispy every single time. I've not cooked chips or toasties in the oven for a very long time now. The Ninja airfryer is the top of the range one I think that I see most people rave about and I'd love to try that. But at 200 quid it's a small fortune. Come to think about it I do think I tried making crispy chicken in the airfryer once which came out OK. Basically chicken chunks coated in egg, spices and flour.

Had a Tower machine for a few years now - no complaints. How ever Mrs Hamsta has now ordered a Ninja as she has vouchers etc. out of stock but due in shortly. All singing and dancing apparently. Looking forward to playing with it tbh.

We’ve had Tower 10 for few months and it’s nothing short of amazing for cooking or reheating. In particular the Aldi 16oz Big Daddy steaks cook to perfection medium rare 5-7 minutes each side at 180. It’s easily enough for 2 of us. We’ve done whole chicken on the rotisserie but don’t go bigger than 1.5kgs. Just about anything you can cook in an oven can be done in this air fryer. We did look at the Ninja but it was around £350 whereas the Tower was £127. The tower also has 3 cooking shelves. Can’t recommend them highly enough.

we have a ninja multi cooker air fry, saute, bake/roast, pressure cook, steam cook and a couple of others
its really good
pressure cook a chicken in 20 mins, if you want a bit more colour you can airfry it after for 10 mins but its not needed
i do pretty much all my cooking in it now except for chucking a pizza in the oven!
i 100% recommend and if you have a bluelight card or have access to one Ninja offer discount via the website
