We have had one for about 5 years and if you're into baked potatoes - never seen them come out so good and done through and through. We do fries (sorry) chips, chicken wings, whole chickens, frozen pizza rolls, frozen egg-rolls all kinds of stuff. Uses a lot less energy for sure. You can just cut up potatoes, throw in some oil then season appropriately after and I think they taste better than conventional. If you want something crispy, it'll do it. (Although, I bet there are some badass chip-fryers posting in here who might be harder to please) Have never noticed smoke coming out of ours.
They are a healthier way of cooking, which is why the wife bought it. They're pretty compact too. They are safer as you don't have to get involved with the hot oil as much as with an open pan.
Ours is a generic brand, I can't even see a label on it - the wife is planning to get a Ninja soon as we've nearly worn this one out.
