Out of all his decisions of late it's the exclusion of Smith that has baffled me. He was our best player early in the season and granted his form tailed off but he is certainly a better option at right back than Wilmott (who has done ok) but Wilmott needs shifting into the centre with Chester fucking off into oblivion.

Does it matter who he picks? Most of the squad need moving on, they just ain't good enough.

I think he should have had personal meetings with all the players, got them to look him in the eye and honestly tell him what they thought of their own recent performances and what lengths they were prepared to go to for the rest of the season. Select a team from the ones who seem to care and can say what their failings have been and what their aim is personally in the remaining matches.

He should of got sacked on bloody Wednesday night…

This is the type of game in the championship where you need physicality and height and sadly we have neither.O’Neill mentioned this post match against Cardiff and Cousins did the same after Luton. If he’s here next season we must ensure we add this to our team to mix in with the young talent but obviously Souttar coming back would be a bonus Maybe a mistake getting rid of Batth who was our only defender very strong in the air then!? There were takers for Chester as well, but MON opted to keep the wrong man!

The only mistake we made in getting rid of him was not doing it a lot sooner.

I love how people talk about Batth now as if the results and performances were good when he was in the team.

Bursik
Smith Wilmot Forrester Tymon
Baker Thompson
Vrancic
Campbell Brown DWP
Just play that until the end of the season.
Forrester, Bursik, Campbell, DWP all need games to keep improving. Give them the games they need now, not at the beginning/half way through next season.

Give them the games they need now, not at the beginning/half way through next season. Campbell looks more disinterested than most. the only time he runs is when he has been subbed off. Can't wait to get off the pitch. He's not been fit since he came back from injury. MON keeps insisting he needs more minutes in his legs. Perhaps less Wright's Pies in his belly would be more apt.

I don't get this comment. There's barely an ounce of fat on Campbell. Have you seen the definition in his quads when he runs? The counter to your other comment is, who else? Unless we sign Maja, why bother now? Unless we are getting JPB back, why bother too much now? Fletcher is finished. The best we can hope to do is to get players fit and up to speed for next season. This season is over.

When Forrester and Sparrow travelled on the bus to the Cardiff game Wednesday, not selecting them could be sort of be justified by the fact that they'd played 60 minutes on Monday night before - though why then bring them along, and if MON didn't plan on using them why not have them play the full 90 in the u23 game?
For Saturday there are no excuses. They should both play. You have to have Forrester play from the beginning, because nobody puts a centrehalf on midway through a game, unless there's an injury or a defender dismissed.
Fly Sparrow from the start as well, because why not?
What have we got to lose? Nothing!
But knowing what MON tends to do, Tom will go on the bench, and when the time comes to throw on subs, he will look at him and wonder who is he, so he'll probably use Clucas instead. Then next week, Sparrow will of course be dropped, as he failed to make an impression, despite the fact that he didn't even play.
Have Jones on the bench as well. He can play several positions, but he is probably the closest we can get to a Tymon understudy as lwb.

This whole worrying about Millwall is a bit small time too.
We're at home, impose our game on them.

Sure its been mentioned but whats happened to Philigene-Bidace?

He will pick his most experienced side for what will be a very tricky tie.
.....................Bonham
..........Jagielka Chester.....Fox
Smith...............Allen............Tymon
.............Baker...........Vrancic
...............Brown......Fletcher
If he picks that side he'll do me a favour because I'll be going straight from the pub to home where I can get some outdoor jobs done in the nice weather.

Sure its been mentioned but whats happened to Philigene-Bidace? I think Allen and Baker is as strong of a midfield partnership as we have. However, I think we’d be silly to give Allen a new deal given his exorbitant wage. I think Thompson is a decent squad player on very little money (relatively). He comes in, puts his all in to the match and goes home. You need squad players like that and given that we will be changing the squad a lot over the summer, keeping a couple of those types isn’t the worst thing to do. Instability doesn’t breed success. For those reasons, I’d play Thompson. Now, Vrancic has been poor since before his injury. I wouldn’t be opposed to playing Allen at 10, behind Brown. Put Baker as the next forward and use Thompson in the hole. It won’t be pretty, but at least we could use a high press properly. Putting him there would also ease the burden on Brown covering for Campbell. DWP has a real engine so I see no issues there.

What ‘game’ is that, as I’ve not seen what it is and not sure the manager knows. Quick progressive passing game is what he's aiming for so try to bloody well do it. But we don’t do. The confidence is gone in the squad and you can’t play a progressive game if your players are nervous.
