Surprised he hasnt had a thread from last night? Can we get this shit "best striker at the club" put to bed now? Absolute horse shit and once replaced with the best striker at the club who then scored we looked far more better.

He was poor last night and offered nothing. In his first season he looked decent but he’s done now. Looks too old and way to injury prone. I’m hoping his contract runs out at the end of the season because we need to move on. Does anybody know?

Shouldn't start a match, maybe worth bringing on for the last 25 minutes of a game if all else fails. We rarely play in a way that uses him for his ability now days.

Player coming back from injury not quite with it shocker. That’s the issue though, there’s rarely a time he isn’t coming back from injury.

I've been a fan of Fletch, but he was anonymous last night.

When Fletcher gets some games under his belt he is the best we could hope for at this level, but unfortunately he is very injury prone and his coming of age won't help this at all. I think his contract is up in the summer and we should let him go as I see it.

Could he be one of the senior exits if we're brining in Maja to job share with Brown?
Honestly, i'd drive him anywhere he wants to go. He was like a fish out of water in our high press system earlier this season and was like night and day when he played instead of others, and you have the constant fitness issues with him. Just not worth the hassle for me.

Important for some games, but he is 34 and should be used in the same way that most that age are: to see out games, or as a target man when something different is needed.
He looked very slow last night and didn’t win as much in the air as Brown did.

I agree, if we get the opportunity move him on…

Agree, his game time needs managing, There is a possibility that he not fully recovered from Covid MON mentioned that he had been quite poorly

Good player, but I assume his contract runs out at the end of the season?
If so, I definitely wouldn’t renew.

He’s still the only striker we have who can hold the ball up though isn’t he? All the others are wide attackers or a bit lightweight.

You might have to locate a retirement home for him. If his contract isn't renewed at the of the season, then I think he's smart enough to just hang up his boots. He's 36. But actually I think Fletcher can still do a job for us, but he needs to have his significant other with him. He has missed Powell more than anyone. They think football on a different level and if you watch them together it's clear that they have this special connection. He also works well with Campbell. especially to the benefit of Campbell. A fully fit Campbell, a fit Powell, and a reasonably fit Fletcher - that's a combo that could still set a shiver down the spine of some. But the trio hasnt played together for more than a year. It won't take them a year to gel together again, but it'll take more than one game.

I suppose he was hoping Surridge would be that man but he’s not working out is he? Maybe this lad Maja can do the job until the end of the season.

Watched him in warm up on Friday and he was best striker by a mile. Every shot he had bar one went in off the post. Thought he was going to have a stormer but never got into the game.

That’s usually the case with Fletcher. In the home games they do a shooting drill in the warm up close to where we sit, and he’s smashing them in with aplomb. I must admit though, I find his finishing where it counts (during the game) to be very erratic. He cost us the game at Bristol City with two criminal misses.

Yeh I really don’t see what the club saw in surridge he’s been very poor to say the least. Hope this lad is the answer I was reading it’s a loan with a obligation to buy don’t know if that’s right but I hope he’s the fellow we can get behind. Don’t know much about him but let’s see how it goes

I thought he did quite well last season in the Premier League all things considered.

I like him as a player - he just never seems to deliver. If he's offside he'll score worldies!
