And they want to sell the NFT's to 'offer a piece of the team', so no ownership shares. Reading online, it's Bradford City they want to buy.
Seems like the sale is close as well.

WTF is a NFT? pretty sure it's that Welsh TV channel you used to pick up fuzzy football games on in the 70s. Usually the Welsh Cup or Newport in Europe.

WTF is a NFT? Stands for Non-Fungible Token. In football, having an NFT will basically mean that the bit of a club you've bought as a fan will contain proof of your digital ownership of it. So it might not grant fans any actual ownership in the traditional sense, but rather make them they feel like they own part of the club, with no say in how it's ran.
People sell artwork online as NFT and people will buy it just to say they have 'proof of ownership'. The reality is you can just right click an NFT image, press save as and you have the same image as them, and for free.

total idiocy.
I've been following the rise of NFT's for a while now. As despite the initial rush, it's a monumental mess. Firstly, it takes the equivalent of up to 75 litres of petrol to power the computers that create each NFT; so creating thousands, and you start to see the bigger 'dirtier' picture in terms of the environment. It's only time before those involved realise how pointless they are.
Crypto, whilst there is a use, Bitcoin has become a bit of an issue. No one uses this currency to buy anything, it's simply become an investment option; however, the central banks around the world are starting to ban/clamp down on how it can be used...so if it can't be used as a currenny to buy anything, the value drops like a stone.
I know there are bitcoin fanboys everywhere, but it really is nothing more than a digital currency. Again, the energy the whole of crypto uses for mining them, is insane.
Anything digital these days is one of the primary reasons why the planet is on fire.
If i were Bradford, i'd run a million miles.

WTF is a NFT? A great Twitter thread on NFTs here: He ends on: "Like all crypto scams, the essence of the NFT grift is in recruiting new believers by convincing them a blessed database is an authoritative registrar of value. Just like star naming the grift isn't about utility it's simply a shared delusion in a get rich quick scheme." I don't remember if he mention how any of these websites that store the NFT record could disappear too. Meaning the bit of blockchain (sort of like an internet link) you have paid for can easily be lost. And a good article from a guy who introduced the concept in the hope it would help artists: www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2021/04/nfts-werent-supposed-end-like/618488/

All property ownership is crime!...isn't it? So NFT's would be exempt as you don't really own anything. Is this all a communist plot?

I have some fungible tokens in my garden. (Aka leaves). Would anyone like to give me lots of money to hold them on their behalf? I have devised a clever device that stores them in an environmentally friendly manner. It’s called a compost bin.

I watched The Big Short the other day, a film about how the fraudulent practices around the marketing and selling on of sub-prime mortgages in the US almost brought the entire global economy crashing down.
NFTs have the same whiff about them.
Of course, we taxpayers will no doubt be expected to bail out the banks again when this latest Ponzi scheme falls over...
