I watched The Big Short the other day, a film about how the fraudulent practices around the marketing and selling on of sub-prime mortgages in the US almost brought the entire global economy crashing down. NFTs have the same whiff about them. Of course, we taxpayers will no doubt be expected to bail out the banks again when this latest Ponzi scheme falls over... Cracking film. It's sad that nothing will probably be done about NFTs until it's too late. They're a killer for the environment too.

I'm old, and I'm lost with this shit but I'm not so stupid as to own one of these NFTs just so I can think I own something when, in fact, I don't own anything. The world is going insane. OS. You will own nothing and be happy. © Starkiller.

There should be a statue erected of the guy who paid $69 million dollars for the first Tweet. A Monument to Stupidity. This is the world we live in now. Everything is about image not substance. When I was young (a long time ago) if a company wanted to advertise their name on my clothing then they would pay me for the privilege. Nowadays young people will not buy the clothes unless they carry advertising. So you see everywhere these unpaid walking billboards. NFTs are the new "King's Clothes"

Americans may be stupid enough to buy NFTs relating to the club they follow. But I wish the promoters joy trying to sell NFTs to Yorkshiremen. Initially these will be given free with tickets to some games. Hopefully they will become collectable in the future and it may become possible to buy and sell them eventually. Along with their usual dose of sports, beer, and violence, NFL fans will also get a digital token included with the purchase of tickets to certain games this season. Yes, they are NFTs from the NFL. They don’t come associated with every ticket, simply every purchase on an eligible account, so it’s impossible to predict exactly how many there will be or potential future value. The first Virtual Commemorative Ticket game already happened on November 7th when the Cardinals played the 49ers, and the next one is scheduled for Thanksgiving during the Bears / Lions matchup. If you’re not attending the games in person but still want in, there are non-ticket NFTs on the way. The league says in an announcement, “In addition to the commemorative NFTs given to fans after attending select games, the marketplace will also offer a limited number of digital collectible NFTs across all 32 clubs for fans to purchase and collect. Fans will also have the opportunity to trade or sell their commemorative NFTs.” Later this season, the league will partner with NBA Top Shot operator Dapper Labs to sell digital video collectible NFTs. Still, if digitally registered icons take off like their proponents keep saying they will, there’s a chance that you might be able to sell your Giants / Eagles commemorative token to someone one day, just like a ticket stub or signed jersey.

So a bit like baseball cards of old, maybe? Most of them are worth f all, the odd one might be coveted but either way, value is determined by the purchaser and whoever is daft and rich enough to pay a premium for it.

NFTs are the new buzz for the millennial crowd who distrust the old ponzi schemes of wall-street. This new "crowd" follows around crowdsourcing each new coin or NFT opining about de-regulation and technology behind them. The large calling for coins and NFT's are that it they aren't centralized etc. The problem is, it isn't controllable at all. The govt or big banks would love to control the market (as they would do with most of everything). That is where this is heading but for now its some fat fuck in Dallas (or Milton Keynes in the UK) who owns a server farm and mining operation going on reddit talking about the newest blockchain to have is "x". While the practice has good libertarian intentions it also has been corrupted already like everything that starts out like this. The con artists have taken over the tool to help artists. There is money to be made because the flocking to the market but it is very unstable like all currency atm especially the U.S. dollar.

I exchanged my newly acquired post Brexit sovereignty for NFTs. I'm not sure who got ripped off.
