Ooh let’s list his best signings, I’ll start: Berahino Forced Sparky to bring him in, did he? You know the rules, he’s responsible for anything bad that happens and gets no gratitude for anything good. We could list plenty of good signings that were made during Scholes’ tenure, but that would be pretty dull.

It be interesting to see if we do many transfer dealings in the January transfer window? Scholes leaves his role in the New Year, and it always seemed he was the main negotiator for any transfers in or out of the club?

The only concern over this is John Coates gets more involved in the football side of things and decision making🤔 God help us & the club if thats the case.

This is going to be one of the biggest appointments of John Coates career. If he gets this wrong we’re fucked. I’m glad Scholes is going though. I wonder what brought this on. I can’t think of many easier ways to earn £1m PA. He's been touted for other roles for a while, so it seems he was in quite a lot of demand. It was a job with the English Football League earlier this year.

He's not responsible for the many issues we have/had however there are a few that fall directly at his feet. Steven NZonzi to Sevilla for 7m, Begovic to Chelsea for 8m are a couple with the continuation to give every idiot a 5 year contract. I know he'll say that you can't make a player sign a contract they don't want but that's why many will always consider him to be unfit for the job.

I don't see what he could've done with Nzonzi really, we didn't hold any of the cards there. He definitely went overboard with the five year contracts, which I think was a direct response to that.

Hold your beers before you celebrate, and look at the people who will be charged with replacing him. They regularly make a pig's ear of appointing managers, bar the odd recent exception and they show absolutely no nous of running a modern football club compared to their peers. Deep breath... Is Moxey still out of work🤔😄 Think he's at Burton. Slightly different scenario at the club to when he was last here to #be fair and we couldn't afford Sean Devine for example to be fair. Scholes got blamed for everything by some including the weather and folk being too fat for the concourse.

Well, we have had a proper clear-out this season haven't we!!
Absolutely critical that we make the right choice to replace Tony, no messing around - we need a wealth of experience and safe hands to run the ship.
Go on Stoke, inspire us!!

I'd argue it was a timing issue with N'Zonzi and as contracts run down with good players your start to lose the power. I'm not suggesting that the club did a Wayne Thomas but I still fell that better planning and negotiating could have resulted in a better solution, although I admit it is only speculation.

As CEO , there’s been good and bad … obviously managerial appointments, sackings , player recruitment , contracts , retentions and releases and the role and experience if any of the new man / person in those areas will be of immediate concern .. not least as the short term timeline appears to fall in the transfer window..including if we’ll favour last minute or early signings
Of concern too is the new persons views , running & budgeting of the academy , which while beginning to produce results appears to have a constant turnover in directors and coaches if the various adverts posted by the club are anything to go by
How the new person will manage the clubs budget and just as importantly advise the owners and if they’ll be major changes in that approach awaits to be seen ..will the new man have different areas he wishes to spend or focus the budget , and will he be more or less successful in increasing those budgets ..either via the owners or outside revenue streams
Of concern ( interest ) too is the freezing of season ticket prices . , together with the question of free away travel ..both of which as I understand it Scholes was a firm advocate of ..as well as attempting to encourage other clubs to follow those ideas together with reciprocal ticket pricing , will the new person have similar views or convince the owners that they’re wasted revenue opportunities
On a personal note Scholes didn’t always seem to understand that some supporters ( often a handful , often just two 🤪 ) saw attending friendlies in the same light as attending competitive games , information while improving under his watch still remained patchy and unclear at times , including even when asked directly to confirm information gleaned from other clubs or sources. Perhaps concerned of another UAE scenario when the club called off an advertised friendly with 2 hours notice to which supporters had travelled to ..in 40+ years of attending friendlies my view has always been let the traveller beware ..I’d far prefer a wasted journey , than being told about a journey too late to travel .
.it will no doubt take time to build a relationship with the new person ..which also brings into question the part of the supporters council ..will that improve or melt away .. interesting times ahead
