The flood lights at this shithole of a ground are shocking, and the rest of the place is a dump

Just watched the highlights on Quest and thought there’d been a floodlight failure second half. It was so dark it was untrue. Surely there’s some kind of minimum standard they should be, not just ball boys with torches.

Superb away end for anyone 5 feet tall or under…… I should have gone. Along with Loftus Rd, worst ground in the country for me. Absolute hole of a ground. Fits in with the rest of Luton to be fair. What a horrendous town.

I the way out I thought I could see someone taking a dump in their bathroom that was literally on the staircase out 🤣 I remember years ago coming out of an evening game and some woman having a shower was a bit shocked to see hundreds of folk filing past. Possibly the same house.

Definitely need to tick it off next season. I hear they are moving to a new ground in the next couple of years.

It has character, I love it Griffin Park was another ground cut from the same cloth. Sadly they are being phased out for bland, modern grounds dumped next to a motorway.

Never mind the flood lights. This place is dangerous. There owners/directors should be made to use this end of the ground. They'd soon change it. It isn't up to none league standards. It even makes "the Wembley of the North look good"

Rightly so as not fit to host football at the level they do in this age I think it's a shame they can't be modernised and brought up to the standards we expect today. Give me an older ground with character any day of the week.

There are far better non league grounds than Luton without exaggeration. Not sure why you would considering modernising a place like that. It's not 1938

I'm sure any of would loved to seen the Victoria Ground redeveloped instead of moving.

It had done it's time and served its purpose and was outdated no matter which way you look at it. You can live in the past and talk about how great things were when in reality they really weren't or move on . Dot Cotton has character but I wouldn't want to wake up next to her every morning.

I'm speaking hypothetically. I know the place needed some love and we didn't have the funds at the time. It's a special connection to a football ground. It's an overused term, but it really is a second home. It's tough moving on, especially when you look at how some modern grounds have ended up. Ask any West Ham fan about their move to that abortion of a stadium.

The ground wasn't built for football but made sense to move there as Upton Park these days wouldn't manage their support. I know a Northampton fan well on the other side of the coin, was a blessing when they moved to Sixfields.

Griffin Park > miles better than Kenilworth Rod imho Brentford new ground looks a bit quirky ,not bland at all to be fair Lutons new ground (or the plans for it) look 'different' in a good way

Couple of games trips there in the past
77 78 train to Stoke then Bostocks to Luton ..after the game the coach broke down in Luton , went their social club ..still in there when all hope of getting the last train from Stoke had long passed .. finally on our way , only to break down again on the motorway.. fortunately got a lift to Crewe from Stoke and waited on Crewe until the early hours ..seemed to live on Crewe station waiting for trains back then
78/9 Went there for the rearranged night game in the promotion season Feb 79 , already cold when we got there , so went in their end ( where we were in on Saturday) . Though terracing back then .as other end was an open end .. valuable 0-0 draw ..probably best scoreline considering where we stood …remember watching the pitch visibly freeze as the night went on
1988 for the Simon cup when they had their membership scheme and cards rather than tickets to access their electronic turnstiles..fortunately Stoke granted a small allocation..went in the main stand seats around that time ( possibly the season before ) their membership scheme was in full flow , including banning of ALL away fans , regardless of club ..though fans being ever resourceful together with help from some Luton fans away fans breached the ban until it was rethought

It's a dump alright, but also a dump which definitely has 'character', especially the away end which is so close to terraced housing you can see into rooms from the dodgy staircase you have to climb!
Pleased to have ticked this one off with a win before it disappears.
To be fair, if we'd redeveloped the Vic, it would probably look not unlike Kenilworth Rd, squashed in seats on terracing built for standing, some seats as bench seats without backs, just unfit for purpose generally.

The Vic whilst in the middle of being demolished was better than Kenilworth Road
