A win no matter how it came was most definitely needed, and I thought we did enough to deserve it second half.

Counts for nothing if we don't follow it up with a decent result against mad Nath.

We've been playing okay. Very unlucky October but I think it will even out over the season. No reason we can't finish top 6 this season, and outside the top 3, there's no team that looks very solid.

Was exactly what was needed tonight Try and get the confidence back and on to Luton. Great for the travelling support👍 Needed it more than an easy win, as it hopefully reminds them all how to be resilient and win games ugly. It wasn’t pretty but we’ve been too nice so a scrappy win with a few yellows is absolutely fine by me. I like nice football Stoke, but I also long for the horrible side too.

You had to be there to appreciate the atmosphere and the pace the game was played at, fully deserved to win it, very friendly stewards, police and bar staff

Nothing like a dirty, scruffy, horrible win away from home against an in-form side, and the unsoiled sheet was postively, scandalously, atrociously succulent. OS.

Seldom comment re performances , be it team or individual , as everyone will have their own views .. being at a match doesn’t always give you the close view that tv can give on individual incidents ..but it does give you a much wider perspective of players contribution off the ball that tv seldom picks up outside of the Prem full analysis .. it also gives you a much clearer idea of the crowds contribution , their impact on players ( own and opposition ) as well as officials .. you really can’t beat being at a live game
so rather than scruffy , I’d say a classic Stoke away performance and result
Blackpool’s recent results going into the game , impressive to be fair
Sheff U 0 Blackpool 1 Blackpool 2 Preston 0 NottmF 1 Blackpool 2 Blackpool 2 Blackburn 1 Hull 1 Blackpool 1 Blackpool 1 Barnsley 0 Mboro 1 Blackpool 2
Despite our own recent frailty we restricted a very inform Blackpool to very few clear cut chances , we always looked in the game , at no time were we overrun , including the spell in the second half when their crowd gave good backing.Given our recent frailty and understandable nervousness , mistakes could be expected and were indeed made on occasions , however players covered for each other on the night ..something that’s been lacking recently .. Batth’s inclusion allowed a steadier straightforward defensive approach , and after a understandably nervous rusty start his partnership with Souttar grew nullifying most of Blackpools threat , with in the circumstances a very decent defensive performance
The amount of bookings amassed perhaps testimony to Stokes determination to get something out the game , rather than o sided refereeing we didn’t simply fold .. though the booking of Wilmot seemed to contribute to his substitution to avoid being red carded ..or being targeted for one in the 2nd half ..a wise move by the manager , not least considering the head of steam Blackpool and their supporters attempted to build attacking the bulk of their vociferous supporters in the 2nd half
Game won in classic away style , courtesy of the substitution by the manager , a good ball in from a set play , no doubt long hours spent formulating it in the manager and coaches offices and out on the training pitch ..it’s hours spent their that often wins tight games ..and so it proved
could it have ended 0-0 quite possibly , for long periods it was looking that way ..could Blackpool have equalised late on , that would have seen the players and no doubt manager vilified for the exact same performance that brought a victory , possibly ..but they didn’t and Stoke held on for a classic win , that will hopefully prove a steadying influence and reignite the unity between manager , players and fans that was beginning to wain
Roll on Luton ..another tight game in another tight ground

Was it that jammy? Great ball in, good attempt by Souttar, Fletcher right place right time. Yes it him and he knew fuck all about it 😂 The ball and the volley not Jammy at all. No more lucky than a player who swings his foot from thirty yards out and sees it fly into the top corner out of the gk's reach and we seem to concede enough of those once in a career sort of goals. Yet that player is always given credit for scoring a great goal. Fletcher will repeat his type of goal more often because it was down to positional play.

You know what you want to happen with that action. It's deliberate. There's nothing wrong with a lucky goal, it's not an insult or a bad thing. Quite the opposite. I mean it literally bounced off the post and hit him and went in. It was fantastic luck.

Would have benefitted by having a decent referee. The standard of referees in this league is appalling. 5 yellow cards for us and not one for them with similar offences

The standard of referees in this league is appalling. 5 yellow cards for us and not one for them with similar offences All of our bookings were nailed on and Fletcher should have been given a red. Only Thompson’s was a necessary foul. They maybe should have had one but nothing more.
