Would have benefitted by having a decent referee. The standard of referees in this league is appalling. 5 yellow cards for us and not one for them with similar offences You would hope that the club questions this with the authorities? The referees seem to still be coming to the games with old prejudices based on our early years in the EPL!

Our 1st half we lost the plot for a while and all the bookings were justified, never seen so many deliberate fouls to prevent break aways in such a short period of time. I thought he let quite a lot go for both sides, certainly didn't feel he was bias.

No more lucky than a player who swings his foot from thirty yards out and sees it fly into the top corner out of the gk's reach and we seem to concede enough of those once in a career sort of goals. Yet that player is always given credit for scoring a great goal. Fletcher will repeat his type of goal more often because it was down to positional play. I disagree. You know what you want to happen with that action. It's deliberate. There's nothing wrong with a lucky goal, it's not an insult or a bad thing. Quite the opposite. I mean it literally bounced off the post and hit him and went in. It was fantastic luck. I've just watched the highlights and Fletcher knew exactly where to position himself. That's not luck. It was fortunate the rebound hit him but he was there to make sure he could knock it in if possible. He knew what outcome he wanted just like a full back swinging his foot. How often does the full back put that sort of effort into the stands or miles wide and people say he should have passed? I would say Fletcher increased the probability of us scoring from the free kick quite considerably. How many of our players would have watched that hit the post and then reacted by running in too late to get there first? It was great goal poacher play by Fletcher.

Yeah he's at the back post but it's total luck that it hits him and goes in. It could go anywhere. It's luck, it happens.

From where he positioned himself it was very difficult for the ball not to hit him and rebound in. He was on the line!

Not saying that those imposed were not warranted just that there were a number of very similar incidents by Blackpool that went either unnoticed or unpunished. Ankle tapping etc. That said Fletcher was lucky not to get a red.

He failed to give them a penalty in the second half when their player had his shirt pulled as he was going through. I've watched it over and over and it's a definite penno that a good ref would have given. OS.

I agree and Fletch should have gone too, but there were a number of similar fouls committed by them which didn't draw yellow cards as did ours. Happy with the win just wish the standard of referees was better for both sides.
