Very sad indeed. Those who helped to save him should take some pride in the fact they did all they could.
RIP fellow Stokie.

Whilst not the outcome anyone would want, and condolences to the family of a fellow Stokie, this incident shows the "football family" at its best. Fans of both clubs doing everything they could to help a fellow football supporter
Utmost respect to those who tried to help and, again, sincere condolences to the family.

So sad that me and the other guys couldn't save him, I wish I could have done more - I am truly gutted words fail me right now. My thoughts go out to his family friends and loved ones. I'm sure the other people who stayed to help will feel the same. RIP You’re a credit to your family and friends. You went above and beyond, and should feel pride for the effort you put in - you gave him the best chance possible, but sadly it wasn’t meant to be for him. I’m 100% sure the chaps family and friends will be eternally grateful for everything you did last night.

Albert, you should be incredibly proud of what you and the other guys did in trying to save a fellow supporter, a fellow human being. It wasn't to be mate and that is so very sad. Judging by the comments on here and elsewhere a hell of a lot of Stokies are proud of you and I'm sure that the family of the poor bloke who passed away will appreciate your brave efforts. Take care mate. We Are Stoke.

RIP to a fellow Stokie. And Albert, you and the other guys with you were courageous in your efforts. I hope you can be safe in the knowledge you did your very best to keep this person alive and I’m sure the family will be incredibly proud of your actions as I’m sure we all are on The Oatcake. What a man👏🏻

I think the club ought to do something to recognise Albert and the Brentford fan. Be a deserving thing after incredible effort of trying to save a fellow human being.
Obviously don't know their background or training etc but to actually get involved shows great courage in itself.
Again RIP to the gent.

Just got home after giving him CPR for 45 minutes, I hope the fellas ok. I stayed with him until the paramedics could defibrillate him and get an adrenaline line in him. I really hope he makes it, the paras took him off on a stretcher. Gouranga. Hats off to you. Just know you did all you can, mate. Tragic what happened. Take care. May he rest in peace.

Added to which he's one of a pretty small number of people who would actually have a clue what to do in that situation. I know I wouldn't, to my shame - I'd just be shitting myself, hoping someone like Albert was around. Thoughts with the family and friends of the man, and sympathies to Albert and the others who tried their best to help.

Sad to hear but only so much you can do in some cases. Again...great effort Albert. Saw a horrible incident a few months back at a Co-op where a lady collapsed and some utter moron yelled at the ambulance to move as blocking his car in. Good to know are folk like Albert around.

Fair play Albert, Mick & Owen, tough thing to do in those situations and difficult to cope with when the outcome is about as bad as it gets
I’m sure the gentleman’s family will be grateful for your efforts, well done doesn’t sound right but 👏👏
Very very sad but good to know people like you are around when this sort of things happens

I'll agree with you, I personally would of cacked myself and not had a clue what to do. I can't honestly say how I'd of reacted . Just to involve yourself in something as sad as this shows enormous courage and a strong mindset. All those who helped obviously have this in abundance and that's why I feel that they ought to be recognised or thanked somehow. I'm sure they don't want that because of the sad circumstances but it would be worthy of recognition for me.

The supporter’s name is PETER JONES – now that all his family and friends know I think it’s OK that I share this with fellow supporters. Sincere condolences to his family and loved ones.
I feel privileged to have knelt by his side in his hour of need, I am just devastated that I couldn’t have done more and the outcome wasn’t what I prayed for.
I did what I thought was the right thing to do, I’d have done the same no matter what the circumstances and I’d do it again for anyone.
I don’t need thanks or gratitude from anyone - this isn't about me but I would like to pass my thanks and gratitude onto the others who helped. I now know one of the guys was Owen Wainwright a Brentford supporter, I have signed up and posted a thank you to him on the Brentford supporter’s forum. Another guy who helped was Mick a Stoke supporter I have no other details about Mick, there were other people there trying their best to help too.

You did everything you could and you couldn't have done any more, Albert. The survival rate for people given CPR outside a hospital is around 12 per cent, so the outcome is never even close to a certainty, The important thing is that you gave him the chance to be in that 12 per cent. Please, please know that you couldn't have done any more. God bless Peter, you've got some great company up there in the heavenly Boothen xx
