The season is getting away from us I fear. We're notionally clinging on to the final play-off slot but I'm starting to focus on the fact that with 4 points fewer we'd be 13th. We really could do without losing Powell for an extended period of time, or any period of time for that matter. Our proverbial roof is starting to shed a few tiles, I'm getting flash backs to the debacle that was the the final two thirds of last season. I am praying the said roof is not about to cave in! For goodness sake there are 99 points left to play for. We could have won without playing well on Saturday and kept the best team in the division quiet apart from a goalkeeping howler. There is a long way to go and neither Campbell or Sima have featured much as yet. We could easily have 7 more points and are definitely a play off contender but this is an unpredictable league, look at tonight’s results Mathematically it’s not a “must win” game. However, a win is important to stop the slide into mid-table and lose touch with the top two.

They were looking to nail him for the first minute. Cheers Bournemouth, you bunch of wankers. Agreed. However I think all teams seem to target Powell. Happens every week he's playing.

Didn't Whelan do something similar and was back quicker than that?.. I'm are they aren't built out of the same stuff though.

Perhaps now the Sky commentators who reviewed the incident might apologise for saying they didn't know why Powell was kicking up a fuss cos it was nothing. It obviously hurt and Powell knew who did it and it was a foul intentional or not. Because he's a skillful player who moves the ball quickly he has to put up with that sort of challenge a lot.

The club have prepared for this in terms of numbers and the most striking thing about our last performance was how few targets the wide men had to aim for when they were in good positions. I'm not saying it will be a solution in every game but having Surridge and Campbell will mean we have two players who want the ball in the box and not 40 yards from goal.

This is now an opportunity to test my theory, We are better off without Powell like we were with his previous injury lay off earlier in the season. Football and fishing don't mix well, suggest you try a new hobby (making up theories isn't for you either...)

A cracked Fibula will need surgery to put in a metal plate and pins, I've done it myself. He'll be out for 10 weeks.

The bone hasn't moved so it's just a case of waiting for it to knit together. I just read its not been displaced so possibly won't need surgery. He'll still have to wear a cast for 6 weeks then spend a few weeks getting weight back through it and getting back up to speed.

Thompson, Sawyers, Vrancic from now on then.
Surprised he bothered to try and run it off tbh, big loss.

Thoughts
1 Huge loss the wba game showed compared to all the other forwards he’s the only one with composure in key moments 2 The answer mat bec2 up top until,Xmas and with Thomson holding we’ve a decent choice of 2 from 4 in the middle or frantic plus one from three 3 Brown is hopeless on his own but can perhaps make some space fir a partner but for me Fletcher has to be one of the two 4 sima could be very useful 5 we were off track with Powell so let’s not that’s the sole reason if we fall away further

I didn’t recruit the squad Powell won’t be available vranic I’ve rested for sawyers could be either , wilmot O’Neil plays in the left of a three we’ve known we need a left back for years as I’ve said it’s no use the manager saying can only play one way because of the players he’s had enough windows to get a balanced squad I thought this was your first choice team for the season, otherwise why say ‘until Fox is ready’? I agree that the balance of the squad is not quite there yet, but to suggest a different formation to the one that the manager is playing (and has planned for) and then complain that we haven’t got the right players for it is illogical to say the least. I picked a team in response to a poster request

As has been said, it's annoying but we have the right players to cover his absence.
We're fine

The decision to go into the season with five strikers is starting to look a masterstroke now. As good as Powell is we’ll surely find a combo that gets us firing out of those five.

3412 Ostigard Souttar Wilmot Smith Thompson Sawyers Tymon Vrancic Campbell Sima
More than enough to keep us chugging along.
Let's not see what happened last season after losing Campbell, unnecessary reaction.

Thompson can (or should) be swapped with Allen - whether starting or as a sub. I’m more concerned this is asking even more of Vrančić. He won’t be starting all these games, so it’s going to require some careful and tactical use of Clucas as well.

For me it's Vrancic or Sawyers. So Vrancic.
