I wish we were still turning out that team,
I hope it’s not too far in the future where we will be seeing the class of that ilk again lining up for us.

Interesting re the keepers and I'd agree with him.
Griff about the most surprising choice really.

Two things that stand out for me......
1. That website is an absolute abomination
2. Where the fuck is Ricardo Fuller

Interesting re the keepers and I'd agree with him. Griff about the most surprising choice really. is it? in that Prem League time we never really had genuine quality RB apart form Johnson who imho was great for one season & average after that as such whoever was selected at RB was going to be a bit meh always thought it was a shame with Griff that injuries stopped him being that next level RB, pace went

Where the fuck is Ricardo Fuller Leaving out Fuller WTF it seems more of Friends reunited XI rather than best team, Muni was good but hardly played so you have to put Higgy or Pieters at left back, Griffin best right back ? And Whelan / Delap do similar jobs so I would have Lawrence in for one of them.

In the promotion season he was a weak link and our form changed the minute he got injured. In the Prem he was ok but Wilko did way more for us in that time period. Johnson had 3 good months and I still rate Bardo higher of the two for us overall.

Yeah I think most would agree there but I just love Muni. The only other two - Walters and Crouch but I can argue all month why every forward on there is better than them 2 put together and I couldn't give a shit about the PL goalscoring records and only wish Beattie and Wingie played 8 billion times for us in the PL

It’s a team that would take no prisoners - they would win games on attitude alone. Add Fuller , Higgy and Ryan himself to the mix and the opposition would have lost the game just lining up in the tunnel.
PS - personally I think Griff was the best full back we had in decades - it’s not a position where we’ve had massive strength in depth.

Really surprising that he has left Ric out, but Ryan really seems to like many of the grafters. Bojan before Ric!!! Ridiculous!

My team from Shawcross' time here: Bego Wilko Shawcross Huth Pieters Arnie Delap Fonz Etherington Bojan Fuller Subs: Sorro Muni Whelan Moses Shaq Odwemwingie Beattie I'd go Tommy in goal myself but with you for the test of the eleven (and subs). Easy to forget now how good Victor Moses was. Right back any one from the five options really. None wholly convince.

Moses was great for us, just wish we could have kept him. And Wingie and Beattie were only short spells but I just loved how clinical both were and how quick Wingie was. I can't not have any of them in it tbh.

Interesting final sentence when he makes a point of saying under Hughes training was harder than the games.

Wilko the best right back? Faye, at his best for us, was a better player than Ryan and Huth. In my opinion...

Wilko the best right back? Faye, at his best for us, was a better player than Ryan and Huth. In my opinion... I think he's massively underrated tbh. He showed himself to be a consisten PL player for 4/5 seasons and we never really replaced him. Bardo could have done but wasn't given the chance he deserved. Johnson was good for 3 months but not much else.

Johnson was good for 3 months but not much else. I felt Bardsley was better. Wilkinson was a good defender, but he could not pass well, cross or shoot. He liked to sprint a ball directly down the right sometimes, but I don’t recall it leading to much on a regular basis. I also would include either Bojan or Fuller in a single team, with the other on the bench. There’s no way they’d work well together and having them in the team and no player like Walters/Beattie (or even Jones) negates the point of Matty being in there as well.

Cracking team.
I would prefer Mama to Arnie but nevertheless it is a team with a proper SCFC heartbeat.
