Interesting that in this morning's article he names Hughes as the best manager he played for. I would have put money on him preferring Pulis who he owes his career to but I am glad he's come out in support of Hughes. I agree totally with him that it's odd that Stoke fans airbrush out three great years under him and just criticise the last disastrous one. Although I wanted him gone at the time I also think in hindsight that Shawcross is right and Hughes may well have kept us up. You’d imagine there’s a bit of animosity between Shawcross and TP after the whole ‘loser’ phone call debacle.
