First game this season I’ve been and didn’t know you can’t pay by cash in the ground.
It’s not been communicated by the club well at all.
Having signs up at the bar when your there is ridiculous if you’ve only got cash with you when you’re in the stadium you can’t do anything.
It should have been emailed to anyone registered on my Stoke . Though it could have been and i didn’t read the email

What isn’t communicated is no bloody staff behind the bar! Two poor sods trying to serve hundreds🙄

Communication or not it’s shit.
We’ve gone from cash only to no cash.
It just makes no sense.

I stand corrected I must have missed it.
I still think there is more the club can do to make first timers aware beforehand

Tried to buy two hot dogs and a bottle of sprite with ethereum, the girl serving me told me to fuck off. Absolute wank Stoke.

If you don’t want to down your half time beer you have to sacrifice watching some of the game which puts people off. More outlets and the more money you would make.

It’s frustrating because it’s not difficult to set up fast flowing beer selling for what 45 mins before ko and 15 mins at half time. Happy fans and more money made. Not difficult

It's 2021 folks.
Why the fuck would anyone moan about a cashless system?

Because lots of people still use cash? Wank answer. Next. It’s not though is it. Especially older fans. You’re essentially stopping quite a large demographic at the game.

Some don’t like using cards and contactless though. My Dad is 60 and still uses cash as a preference and there will be many like him. It’s ridiculous to not have the option.

It’s ridiculous to not have the option. I'm only 10 years younger than your old man, and I reckon in 10 years time I'll still know that not having to piss about with cash is miles easier and quicker than having to. I hate modern society, but some things are a massive advantage, and tapping a bank card against a hand held device is fucking mint compared to fucking about counting change.

The information on the clubs website is that inline with COVID 19 guidelines no cash will be accepted.
I can’t find the guideline that they are referring to.
People should have the choice of how they want to pay.
I’m am sceptical and think that they don’t want to cash up anymore and quoting a COVID guideline as rationale

I still think there is more the club can do to make first timers aware beforehand Sorry but that’s on you, if you have missed a communication that thousands of others have seen on the website & social accounts. They did a reminder as well before the Reading game. www.stokecityfc.com/news/2021/august/Matchday-guide-Reading/

So 2010. I have been using my iPhone and Apple Watch to pay since 2017. Full transaction history, more secure and no limit on spend.

You can still use cash in the club shop and pay for your ticket with it so how is buying your food abs drink with cash more of a risk?

It was also communicated in the local paper as well, by the supporters council and countless reminders on Social Media, I honestly don’t know what more the club could of done? Personally if it was my first game back since the pandemic then I would do some reading on it, a simple google can pull this information up 🤷🏻♂️ www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/stoke-city-contactless-fans-stadium-2851703

If folks are complaining about having to use cards in 2021 at a major sporting event that tries to feed/water 20,000 people within 15 minutes then you might be better off instead spending your time and energy in practicing and familiarising yourself with how contemporary monetary transactions work.
