It's 2021 folks. Why the fuck would anyone moan about a cashless system? And who doesn’t carry their plastic with them? Unless they’re 8 years old and don’t have a proper bank account.

It’s not though is it. Especially older fans. You’re essentially stopping quite a large demographic at the game. So have these older fans not got bank accounts? No, and to gain entry to the game they insist on having a printed out ticket & always keep the stub 'just in case'.

I’ve missed it granted but I’m still not sure it was communicated effectively if you didn’t go the Reading game or had no plans to go then you can easily not see the change. You can still use cash in the club shop and pay for your ticket with it so how is buying your food abs drink with cash more of a risk? I assume it's for logistical reasons. Multiple cashing-up of tills dotted around the grounds after each game, staff staying late to cash up, even later if there's a discrepancy, etc etc. More money to worry about transiting. Automated electronic payments are massively more efficient for business. Everyone will have to accept that eventually, cash will be pretty much phased out.

Communication or not it’s shit. We’ve gone from cash only to no cash. It just makes no sense. No sense apart from making the process faster and protecting the staff having to handle cash. Like most retail outlets have done

Like most retail outlets have done Most retail outlets you have an option. I think there should be contactless only sections but there definitely still needs to be cash. And if they wanted to protect their employees they’d mandate masks in the concourse for everyone.

There's burger vans outside that sell teas, coffees, soft drinks, chocolate etc. that accept cash so no one needs to go without (alcohol is the exception I guess)

I think it's a little ridiculous how quickly we went from no cash to cash only.

But other than that what sense does it make? Yeah protecting their employee well from an airborne virus there😂😂😂 He didn't mention anything about a virus. The protection could be from having to handle cash and any allegation or even temptation of theft which could be made and the inevitable cashing up and transporting the cash to the strong room.

There’s no way you could get someone stupid enough to walk through a concourse full of Stoke fans with a load of beer strapped to their back every fortnight.

But then I don't take any cash with me to the match either! I can remember once having a cup of tea in The Boothen back in the late 1960s but apart from that the wallet has stayed firmly under lock and key. Skinflint since 1958! ©

What is the reason for selling cans of beer and having to have the bar staff pour it out. What a waste of valuable time
