what's he not good at? positioning, tackling, heading ,interceptions, reading of the game, calmness, leadership, passing, control of the ball it's all there 1 on 1 vs players with fast feet. And like on Saturday, he got a bit lost and the ball over the top (but equally bad that situation from the midfield, Chester and Tymon). been really impressed with him in 1 v 1 situations, he's won every one hasn't he? you can see in opposition players body language they know they that have no chance, it's great to see

That ball over the top was 100% on Wilmot who'd dropped off 5 yards and played their forward onside. If he'd been up with Souttar their lad would have been 4 yards offside. I can't remember a nippy forward turning him inside out once this season. For a streak of piss he's got quite quick feet. Yes he makes mistakes and misjudgements but nothing that leaps out at you and some of his passing would be jizzed over if he was a Premier League midfielder and not just a Championship 'clogger'. Did he drop? Souttar stepped forward with no need I thought and without knowing Chester wasn't there. Tymon I thought needed to cover and cover the gap that Chester had left. I don't think he has at this level but when we've played the PL sides and I watched him against Spain for Aus too and he did. And that's the level he'd be at. Fair enough I haven't watched him at International level. Watch the Highlights it's definitely on Wilmot he takes two or three steps back just before the ball is played and leaves Souttar stranded. Both Souttar and Chester appeal for offside but Wilmot stitches them.

Like I said it’s been mainly when I’ve seen him against better players when we’ve played PL side or against Spain. He looked a little lost at times. May seem harsh but that’s the level he should be aiming for.
