Another one that looks a different player. Seems to have been given a box to play in and break up the play, then give it simple

Yes very good. He’s taken to the deeper role very well when many thought he didn’t have the discipline to play there.
His passing has been a lot more assured these last couple of games too.

Complete victim of the bad and mad managers he’s had to play under at Stoke.
No coincidence that a proper manager is getting him playing again.
Class is permanent.

Wouldn't be surprised if an offer came in for him, possibly West Ham?.

Quality footballer with brilliant work ethic playing well - shouldn’t really be to much of a surprise , he’s done it plenty of times before for this club.

He's playing for us this season like he does for Wales. Sit back and distribute the ball with simple passes. He been excellent the last two games

Played really well today was close to my MOTM but Soutar was that for me. Plalus it helps having players that can pass and move in midfield now an all.

Mrs KUStokie commented that he’s much better when he doesn’t run around like the proverbial headless chicken. She’s right. In fact she’s always right.

I thought that was the best i have seen him in a Stoke shirt. Fitted the system and players available for passes as the team movement throughout was very good. he even won a couple headers around the halfway line. Forest No.10 had a couple of early victories against him then as Forest retreated he shone.

I'll help. If it wasn't for this headless chicken we would still be a top ten premier league side

Credit where it's due has always been my motto mate. Like lancashirelad above I'd go as far as to say that was his best performance in a Stoke shirt since he signed. Not sure he ever took more than 3 touches in possession and he looked a million times better for it.

He was a lot better today. Forest were garbage and usually managed four touches before they gave us the ball back, but part of that was thanks to the excellent work of Allen and Souttar. He kept things simple and made lots of good interceptions.
I say that as somebody who thought he was a massive weak link against Reading.

Always maintained he has never had decent players to accompany him in the midfield since he signed & was lumbered with a prehistoric looking Darren Fletcher, no coincidence that the more quality around him the better his performances

The formation helps him a lot I think. He’s not the only one that has to be disciplined.
The midfield overall has looked better now that it’s done since we went down.
I was very impressed with him.
