Seems to be well coached, he's done his job today, that's all he's needed to do, I know he wanted to help out and do everyone else's job also but I hate that, do your own job first and foremost, and that what is great at doing long may it continue.

Yeah MOM for me by far.
He was brilliant.
Broke the game up well, great passing, led by example.
I’m always a big critic of his but credit where it’s due today.

He’s previously been criticised for not being able to play a position we’ve never even asked him to play, that’s the absurd thing. Has all the attributes to play his current role all day long if he stays fit and with the current players around him……

Quiet in the first half when Clucas was our best midfielder, but was immense in the second half and dominated the game.

Credit to him for being excellent in the last couple of games and let’s hope that continues.

I’m not sure we do, there have been times when it hasn’t been at all clear what role he’s been asked to play. You yourself at the start of the window were hoping we might move him on.

We have a brilliant manager. He's certainly doing his job, instilling confidence in a very young team. Fergusson was the same and look how that worked out. A very controlled performance today for over 85 minutes. Hats off to Joe Allen too. Looks a different player. It's all about man management. Love MON

Brilliant player for us and always has been. Even when he hits a bit of bad form and things are not going his way - he never goes missing. Lucky to have him. It was mainly the form of Allen, Clucas and Powell that kept us up the season before last, hopefully, they can all hit form together again this season. Real players, player - if you have played the game then you can appreciate just how good he is, those that slate him are clueless - in my opinion

There were calls for him to be hung, drawn and quartered last week. Only by dickheads who still believe that he is the anti-christ, and that he is the main reason why we have been a Championship team for the past 3 seasons. The "he's the one constant for the past 5 years" idiots should hang their sorry heads in shame, because we are talking about a footballer who could quite easily have bailed when we got relegated, instead of giving his all for the football club they support. Joe Allen has been surrounded by shithouse footballers since he joined us, and he has maintained a professionalism that not many have or would have done In those circumstances, so as far as I'm concerned he deserves to be our Captain, and I'd put money on it, that every single one of his team mates appreciates the work that he puts in, on the pitch and off it.

He didn't start the game off very well, gave the ball away a few times in dangerous positions in the first 15. As the game wore on he got better and kept it more simple. His pressuring was good and the tackles were full hearted, he was unlucky to give fouls away on a couple where he'd won the ball. I don't think he was MOTM though, I thought Brown edged him too with his pressing, tackling and touches.
It does make me laugh how the highest earner has now had 2 good games and all of a sudden he's the MMessiah. Let's give him a fair crack till Christmas and see if he keeps the performances up. Like Vrancic today I thought was a bit below, with some of his touches, passes and even set pieces.

Lovely bloke, works hard, popular in the changing room, can’t control a football. 😄 Definitely much improved these few games though.

I thought “there’s something really odd about this thread,” and then it hit me, there’s not a peep from Bayern. He must have gone fishing. He should do that more often. Good for the mental health and all that.

I actually learned to spey cast on the Spey and had salmon jump over my fly up river - bastards! I have not caught salmon on some of the best salmon rivers in Europe. Also bastards. But I have successfully tickled trout in places I can't disclose in S-o-T.

Well I'm not hanging my head in shame, My comments on Allen have been based purely on a 6 season trail of absolute garbage from a so called midfielder, not a run of 2 or 3 games here and there. AT THIS POINT HE MOST DEFINITELY IS PLAYING MUCH, MUCH BETTER, whether that's down to a new system, better coaching we'll see but I certainly hope it continues because prior to this he has offered FUCK ALL to Stoke City. Your reason for the this, I believe, is because he’s been surrounded by shithouse footballers, which doesn't stand up when Nick Powell has been surrounded by the same shithouse footballers recently and has still been able to shine. It as only taken 6 seasons 5 managers Countless rebuilds around him A new recruitment process A new playing system To prove he's a decent enough player. I really wished he had bailed on our relegation, I really do, instead of offering him a ridiculous extension package that as sucked this club dry(not alone in that regard). But to repeat, if we can finally get something positive from him, I'm all for it because he's got a huge amount to make up for.

I’ve always had a soft spot for Joe, primarily when he had long hair because I experience a confusing homoerotic twinge for men who look a bit like Jesus. Footballing wise his hair is short now so he’ll have to keep playing like that to maintain the twinge.

In his very first season at our club he was one of our better performers. Has he been a world beater whilst with us? No. Has he always given us 100%, whilst being surrounded by a load of players who haven't? Yes. My post was aimed at all the people who still to this day believe that Joe Allen is to blame for our demise as a football club. If you're one of those people then you deserve to take offence to my original post, because it always was, and still is, absolute horseshit.

I find the mentality a bit strange with some posters on here. We have a small group of people who take great joy in sticking the boot into supporters because they have a different opinion on either club matters, players, managers or suchlike. Looking through a number of posting histories, all you see is pages and pages of people snidily taking pot shots at other posters whenever a player and/or manager hit a good run of form. It's poor.
I've yet to meet a football supporter, of Stoke or any other club, that doesn't have a negative opinion of a certain person at their club that is not happy when they turn their form around.

As far as I'm concerned, I'm only "sticking the boot in", or "calling people out" as I'd rather call it, who have this absolutely absurd notion that one player is the main reason why we ended up in the mess we were in on the football pitch. You say that these supporters will be happy, but I haven't seen a single one of them post anything positive about Joe Allen on this thread yet.. Strange that.
