i may have missed the discussion but living out of the area yesterday posed a problem, we used to park on the old Michelin car park which has now been taking over by the club, we liked the place as it was relatively painless jumping back on to the motorway. with that in mind where can we look to park on matchdays now ?? i have no issue paying and no issue with a 10 minute walk, just the painful crawl away gets my blood up and i could do without that part we live north of stoke but used to travel down to junction 15 any help is gratefully received

I too arrived at michelin yesterday to be told it was now a Stoke City staff car park . I must have missed the notification from the club telling everyone this 🤬 . I did notice before and after the match it was only 1/3rd full. Why not have a reserved section for staff and let other Stokies pay and park there ???

Your post reminds me of my dad back in the 1950s. He used to go to Stoke one week and the Vale the next; people did that in those days. He also had a car which was unusual because he was a commercial traveller. One Saturday he turned up at the Vale and parked and a steward came up to him and told him he could not park there. My dad asked why not, because he always parked in the same place. The steward said one of the directors had got a new car and wanted to park there and it was reserved for him. My dad said " Tell that director he is welcome to my parking place as I won't be needing it any more." He got in his car and drove off and never went to the Vale again.

Just being nosey, is the Michelin club down by the training ground? Michelin club is yes. This car park they're on about is along from the gardeners retreat I think.

Yeah I could be wrong and they're on about the Michelin club car park but it's a good 40 minute walk to the ground from there. The 1 I'm thinking of is just over the bridge of the a500 from the incinerator. Maybe they're shuttling the staff up from there?

The car park in question is the one opposite the emergency doctors, right on the michelin roundabout. They've been renovating it all summer. At first it looked like they were preparing it for building, but they've just cleared it and made the surface a bit more acceptable for parking.
I never used it myself, but it looked a fair size and it's more spaces that need finding, on top of the South Car Park spaces that are currently unavailable.
It would be good of the club to find out all available car parks in the vicinity and put up a list on the Official site, so that people can plan where they park. You have to ask why they haven't done it already given there are a number of car parks that are now unavailable? If the club can't do it, then the Supporters Council should surely do it, if the club feel a bit conflicted?
Just a simple list will do. Post code, walking distance from the ground, current price and approximate size.

Our usual car park had been commandeered yesterday.
We managed to find an alternative but it was pretty full by 1.40pm.
This is a difficult one for the club but if we start getting bigger crowds then it will become an issue.

In response to the OP. There is a car park in Heron Cross, costs a fiver - 15 minute walk. ST4 4LH.
Also, the club did publish a list of 3rd party car parks on Trentham Lakes on the website at the end of last week

Went to ticket office SAturday morning after queing told me - none available. No offer of waiting list so whats going on? Surely with all those players going we have lots of spaces ha ha I've had a car park pass for the West Car Park for the last 3x seasons & was told I needed to reapply to get one for this season due to the general car park situation. So I emailed my request in but had no confirmation back of where I'd be parking. Was informed in the week prior to Reading game that pass was ready & I'd have to collect it on match day. Went to ticket office & main club reception in the Frankyn Stand on Saturday & no-one knew where the passes were! So ended up having to get dropped off at the ground & grab a lift back off a mate who'd been lucky enough to get his car park ticket through for the Boothen End CP. But as has been mentioned, the West Car Park was half empty compared to a usual matchday so really don't know what's going on..

If you are able-bodied, park in Stoke. There are plenty of free on-street parking places available, followed by a 30min stroll to the ground along the river.
Good exercise to shift a few lbs too.
Not so pleasant in the rain admittedly, but that won't be every week.
I can never understand this desire to bust a gut to get home as quickly as possible afterwards, as though going to the game was a compulsory two-hour chore!

We can leave at final whistle and parked there be back in Congleton for 5.30ish... Had a mare finding parking after (all the streets near Michelin / Gardeners have signs declaring they are now a "police Towaway Zone") and ended up on some carpark at some warehouse halfway down Stanley Matthews Way. (Which for going back to Congleton is a pain as you have to go south). What struck me walking up towards ground was how many warehouses / garages etc have huge empty spaces that they could use as matchday parking and make a few quid. -This is an issue that needs review - if crowds were bigger it would be awful...

Of all the grounds I have travelled to, ours is the poorest for parking. It gets worse every year.

We used to park on the harvester it’s a fiver but you have to get there before half 12 or you won’t get a space and leave on about 87 minutes to avoid traffic

The first game I can make is 11th Sept and it would help to know where I can now park if anyone could be so kind ? For the last few seasons, I have either parked in Pets at Home (turning into Stan M Way past Aldi and the pub and heading past Screwfix etc ) or more often turned right at the traffic lights before the big car park on the left, headed up the hill and left into a company car park ( can't recall which company) Can anyone advise if either option is still available ? Cheers

what the actual fuck was going on today? Was it the Clown Car Parking Company at its worst again? Our normal 10 minute drive on our coach from Blythe Bridge turned into half an hour with nothing whatsoever on the A50 to cause this. Just a huge queue from the ground back. Traffic should be smoothly moving towards the car parks from there, shouldn't and normally isn't any hold ups. Then down to the turnstiles where there are queues galore, not even any searches going on, ffs just flash the card and in you go!! People still coming in by us at 3.15 who are regulars, never late. Nightmare. But we won, happy days.
