Forest fans think he's signing for them, but they are notoriously deluded! After the success of his loan last season it would seem logical he went there.

Anyone else think this one won't happen? It's been way too drawn out & they never seem to come off when they've rumbled on for a while, especially lately. I also really like the sound of this McCann lad and hoping the turks do us a massive favour for once. I’m on this thought path, Seems we got annoyed at being dragged along and played around with Man City/Delap and then with Villa dragging heels after Wesley red card on Davis (luckily Davis injury) Seems we just went - oh well then screw ya, we’ll go get Surridge instead then. Even if it means we don’t get our No: 1 - I’d prefer ditching that Avenue rather than being strung along by other (big) clubs than held to ransom or in some kind of Mexican standoff

Manu may want him to experience something different to widen his footballing knowledge, such as playing with a proper player like Nick Powell, and he won't get that there!

It'd be interesting to know what the priority list is (assuming we're interested in all 4?)
1 McCann 2 Garner 3 Baker 4 Sawyers
Although not sure Sawyers is the type to sit in front of the defence?
Possible McCann could be the priority (although very possible it's Garner) - but he would cost a hefty £2m+ reportedly - and have we got that down the back of he sofa? Wages would possibly be manageable though.

The Athletic article suggests the player will have "a lot of sway" in determining his destination - presumably if and when he signs up long-term at Man United. Although as mentioned by the journo Daniel Taylor a few days ago, Garner does share an agency with Wayne Rooney - and also seems to share an agent with Josh Tymon. twitter.com/stevenbecksss?lang=enHe re-tweeted Pete Smith's article on the Stoke interest last week.

Again, another deal taking a lot of time. As a manager surely you would want to conduct your business as early as possible. We seem to be forever waiting on deals.

Could be that the main 2 targets are being delayed - Garner (while he haggles over his new Man Utd deal and decided his loan destination) and McCann (who's possibly not available until after St Johnstone get knocked out of the Europa and even then he'd take some getting).
So maybe Baker and Sawyers are Plans C and D?
Probably worth hanging on for the better players, although not clear at all which of McCann and Garner we'd favour - because we obviously won't be getting both and seem massively in for Garner at least.

Just think in order to gain momentum and get our new players in the team it is better earlier than later. These players will be turning up without any match practice in months and we will play catch up. Suppose it`s a price of the waiting game.

We've signed numerous players late in windows before and it's had no discernible effect. Sometimes you have to wait for the players you want to become available.

Us and pretty much every other team...... Our Manager has always said that Prem. clubs won't make decisions on loaning players until near to the end of the window. It's often based on who they themselves bring in.

Patience is a virtue. We've had a great window already.
