Great idea. Something we'll never see at Stoke.

Looks brilliant.
I’d love something like this at our home games but I doubt it will happen anytime soon. I asked this to be put forward by the supporters council and I think it was going to be reviewed by the club according to their minutes……let’s see what happens 🤞🏻

Innovative and the plans have a wider appeal than just football. This level of creativity is needed in lower league football just to exist, well done and hope it comes to fruition.

The club has a real downer on Fan Zones for some bizarre reason, and the Supporters Council don’t challenge them enough in my opinion….

Rather than knock ourselves I'll prefer to praise Tranmere. Great initiative and the revenue it will create will be fantastic for them.

I've said for a long time that stoke are missing out on the thousands that go for a pint at clubs and pubs throughout the area..... If they had a large area close to the ground that served beer and food at a reasonable price the fans would fill it. Personally I'd rather give stoke my money than a club up the road but things have to be priced right.

I was talking to a friend about Tranmere’s current fan zone and how good it was. Tranmere have a decent sized plot behind their main stand where this is sited, Stoke don’t really have this space unless they lose part of a car park. The other thing that impressed me was how opposing supporters mixed in this area in a friendly atmosphere, I can’t really see that being the case at Stoke sadly. Tranmere is worth a visit and they upgraded their ground whilst keeping a lot of its character.

It's a great idea but our club haven't got a clue when it comes to this sort of stuff. Said it for years, match day experience is terrible compared to other clubs. Fan zones, music playing in the concourse, titanic ales on tap, better (& more) food outlets) outside the ground, more stuff for the kiddies (aside the few activities in the family stand, big screens showing live games or even classic stoke games..
basic stuff, easily implemented and would literally bring the club more revenue...

In theory losing part of the car park would be offset with more people ditching the car so they could enjoy the fan zone. Plus there’s enough land further down Sir Stanley Matthew’s Way to create replacement parking. The club could do it if they wanted to, they clearly don’t…..

Club staff could have a busman’s holiday visiting other grounds and pinching the best ideas to use at Stoke. As you said Stoke don’t have a clue about this Stuff. Burton Albion have a nice but basic bar where support can gather, drink, eat, watch sky sport. We have Delilah’s and we charge supporters to use it, it should be free.

I have put my name forward to be on the supporters council, on my statement this is precisely what I was advocating, saying we should make match day more memorable. I said there is no reason why land around the ground could not be used or making use on a match day of the dome. We will see what happens.

We've been drinking fucking Carlsberg for years inside the ground, why would this change outside of it?

Imagine if say Titanic or Beartown were to do the same?

True enough, and plenty of good examples of how it could be done, Leicester being the prime example locally.

Nothing to stop them using a local brewery and local food outlets though so that local companies still benefit……… This is the exact way it should be done. Different local companies each week. A local independent pub would do an outside bar, an oatcake shop, and perhaps something else that isn’t a burger van. Have a band on too. But we’re Stoke and we’re still stuck in a year that’s long gone by. Scholesy’s still celebrating getting contactless payments going.

Tbh the club need to sort out half time on the concourse first. Its a mess and there are far too many dickheads pushing because there isn't a proper way to queue.

The only thing keeping a town like Stoke alive is matchday revenue, you whip that out from under them and all those pubs will die. It was a stupid idea to move the ground up to that God-forsaken hill but it would be even stupider and downright irresponsible, if not totally predatory, to attempt to steal custom from the few pubs that give the area some character. The "use local companies" idea won't keep pubs open. It would keep Titanic and caterers open but the pubs would not survive.

The only way something like this is viable is if the land is cheap. To invest and have something like that used a few hours every other week doesn't make sense. The only reason anybody goes there in the first place is to buy a car, work or go to a football match. It's not an 'entertainment' destination on any day other than a match day.
