Looks like there are going to be a fair few games postponed in the early weeks/months?

Why?
No games were cancelled when it was at its peak and players tested positive in some clubs including ours so why is is this any different

Another couple of weeks before the season starts with cases dropping rapidly. I don't think it'll be an issue. The odd player may have to isolate but I don't think we'll see games being cancelled.

Judging by Delap’s interview last night it wouldn’t surprise me if a few of our players come down with it🤔But I suppose that’s what squads are for

Yeah - if cases continue to decline, can't imagine it would be an issue to the point we'd see any postponements

Only Rotherham we’re hugely effected in reality ….Virtually every club had positive cases but games went on We had Maclean and Tymon yet continued

Only Rotherham we’re hugely effected in reality ….Virtually every club had positive cases but games went on We had Maclean and Tymon yet continued Rotherham were the main club to be affected for sure and in my opinion went down because of it.A lot of other clubs had games postponed but nothing on the scale of Rotherham

There will possibly be games cancelled in the autumn and winter when they ramp up the testing to justify another lockdown. Players will no doubt be subject to testing every week so disruption will be likely.

There were a number of games affected last season. Seem to remember Spurs being given a bye in the EFL Cup v Leyton Orient before they played us. Anyone who thinks there will be no disruption this coming season is either naive or an ostrich…..

There shouldn't be any disruption but unfortunately we have those who will still blame and accuse and it will take courage to ignore the hysterical calls for postponements. The attitude should be if you're uneasy stay at home and allow the rest of us to crack on. Quarantine is all but gone now with vaccination so there is no need to isolate or postpone games.

How many people had been double vaccinated in December?

How many people had been double vaccinated in December? None. For the record I think that there will be minimal disruption to any competitive sport in the UK due to Covid moving forwards. My responce was to the ludicrous statement made whereby no games were affected, which was utter nonsense, and as you rightly point out was prior to jabs, double jabs and potential boosters.

First postponements of the new season, you’d be mightily pissed off if you were a fan of those clubs after the wait we’ve all had…..

It’s going to happen. Cricket and football have done pretty well to keep postponements at such a low level. Rugby League has been decimated this summer - some clubs are on their 2nd or 3rd round of infections.

Yes Gloucestershire cricket team are isolating at the minute with games being postponed and Derbyshire did the same a couple of weeks back

Footballers unfortunately dont get a choice over testing, but most of the population do and still choose to do it. Crazy. Dont get me started on those complaining about getting pinged....Postponements will be bad in the winter im afraid.

From the 19th though if you've had both jabs and do a PCR test every day and it's negative you don't have to self isolate do you?

If Sage have anything to do with it, Saturday will be the only live game we watch this season. COVID effects a very small amount of people terribly it really does. However, we were promised that the vaccine was our way towards normality. We have to accept COVID will be part of our life for years to come, what we shouldn’t have to accept, is being held false pretence. The world needs to get back to normality, or as close to it as possible

This pandemic isn't going away anytime soon, there are going to be interruptions to nromal life going on for years. Just wait for the chaos if the λ-variant gets a foothold and starts to spread, because initial indications show that it might be more virulent than Δ and also resistant to vaccines/antibodies.

What a load of scaremongering BS, no variant will change that much from the original to evade vaccine or natural immunity
