In line for the Swansea job. I can remember many years ago he was on here trying to establish the bona fides/credentials of someone else claiming to be in the dressing room room with cryptic questions like " were you sit?". Described himslef as "the villain", because he was shagging another players wife. Details are lost in the mists of too many bottls of brandy from Lidl, but it's important that younger posters know that we've always thrived on team spirit and a cohesive unit approach. Where are the pig's heads now? Can't help thinking we've lost something along the way................

When he was fully fit I thought he was a fabulous player and a great leader - a proper force of nature. I hope he goes on to be a great manager - if he does I would not be averse to him getting the job at Stoke one day.

Agreed - just hope that due diligence doesn't get in the way of common sense aka "The Stoke Way"

Legs made of crisps but not a bad player I thought his legs were mostly fine - wasn't it his groin which gave him problems?

He was a Rolls Royce surrounded by puntos. Similar to Hoekstra. They were players that only played for Stoke during that era because they were extremely unfortunate with injuries.

He was massively under-rated
As for Hoekstra, He may well have been a Rolls Royce, but he spent rather too much time in the garage.

He was too quality, I remember a mate who was a Hereford Utd fan, saying he was a Rolls Royce when with them on loan. His managerial CV hardly suggests star quality and Swansea will be a massive step up for him. Time will tell I guess. Good luck to him though.

He was one of the early residents in the dogs home.I could not believe we signed a crock amongst crocks. I was wrong as were most on here. We were the cocks amongst cocks. Super Johnny Eustace away at Watford... passion in a player and forever grateful

He was on here when he was shagging another player’s wife. Anyone know who else in the dressing room posted then and the identity of the unfortunate cuckold?

A serious contender for the worlds most fragile man.
Was with us for 5 years between 2003 and 2008 and managed exactly 74 games.
Certainly not entirely without ability, which made it all the more frustrating that he spent most of his time on the physios couch.

I don't know who Eustace was shagging but at a similar time in about 2005, i do know that a certain Right Back was banging my mate Rich's bird behind his back and liked a bit of 'recreational' in Fat Cats too.

There was a poster who used to randomly make up things re player's wives and girlfriends on here. poor old Rich but I was erm... good friends with a well known Crewe player's girlfriend back in the day.

If he wasn't injured all the time, he would have been immense for us. He was a very good Championship footballer in his time, but he'd get injured, have a couple of rusty games, find serious form, then get injured immediately after again. It always felt like a race for him of what would come first, an injury or a booking.

The odd thing is that he seemed to be reasonably injury free after he left us. He played 74 league games in 5 years for us and 157 league games in 5 years for Watford. OK - he wasn't an ever present for Watford but he did play twice the number of league games for them than for us in the same number of seasons. C'est la vie!

Not to foster a conspiracy theory, but at the time I felt he was a bit too much of a ballplayer for the then manager. I seem to remember (my memory is far from infallible!) Eustace being on the bench quite a lot.

Eustace being on the bench quite a lot. Until he got the groin injury he was TP's first choice as an attacking midfielder. Later in his career with us, after the groin injury which took a long time to clear up, he started fewer games but that was more down to fitness problems than his style of play. He was always the type of player TP liked - he was a very hard worker who happened to have a lot of skill.

Eustace being on the bench quite a lot. He did have a horrific record so maybe we just didn’t want to take a chance…..but I get where you are coming from. He was quite frustrated himself and if I remember correctly, he paid for specialist treatment on his troublesome groin in the States, which was quite successful the summer before we let him leave. Maybe we were just unlucky not to see t.he best of him. Maybe not He was a great player when fit

I think the right back mentioned was shagging Eustace's Mrs. Bloody hell, our squad back then sounds like a series of Footballers’ Wives!
