Went to bed feeling fantastic, never slept wink. ..hardly. Too buzzed and wired after an incredible match that got us into the Final. Woke up to Europe hating us. Had a little look on Twitter this morning to see it overrun with nasty comments from Ireland, Scotland, Wales, France Italy etc etc. I pondered my thoughts for a while and came to the conclusion that they can all kiss my big hairy bollocks. All is fucking well with the world. Don't let the jealous twats drag you down mate 🙂 You're not suggesting that twitter is an accurate reflection of what normal people think are you? Society at large is not as full as bullies and narcissists as a glance at Twitter might suggest.

Tell me about it You are quite right though, nowadays LCFC is very well run and does so much for the community...unlike the way they ripped suppliers off when they went into admin some years back...don't ever let them forget that Yes the history isn’t great but in recent years, very much the model club. I’ll admit despite being a Stoke fan I was on London Road to watch the bus after they won the title. Not because I’m any sort of fan, but because it was such a historic moment. Just imagine if that had been us, and it really could have been, we were 100% heading there until something happened. I got some stick on here at the time for admitting I’d been to watch the bus but I don’t regret doing it. It was a great footballing moment because it showed smaller clubs could still compete. And that’s relevant to us.

I'm just trying to get a grasp of how the nation is going to feel if we lose this final. Sick of fcking hearing the phrase 'it's coming home', so much so in a twisted kind of way if England do lose I'm looking forward to repeatedly saying to anybody that will listen that 'its not come home, has it' then repeat it for weeks on end. half of the people saying it have probably never been to a football match in their life and don't even understand what it means. "It's coming home is right up there with hands face space. Fck it off

After watching the Spain v Italy game the previous night, Eng v Den was the stuff they clear up after the Lord Mayor’s show! England simply stifled any attacking intentions that Denmark had, wore them down, then after scoring the necessary goals ran the clock down with time wasting tactics. Kane’s centre of gravity must be the top of his head, as every time anyone went near him he went down like a giant redwood! Why can’t they win with fast, attractive free flowing football, surely they now have the players to do it!? Unfortunately Southgate hasn’t got the balls to let them play, he even took Grealish off half an hour after bringing him on! Sunday could be a classic to compare with the other semi final, but I fear it will just be another slog. I don’t really care if we win with attractive, free flowing football, I just care that we win fairly and squarely. If it’s turgid and boring, well ok but as long as we win that’s fine. Besides which I don’t recognise much of your view of last night’s game. We did a great job....and we have a great team and manager. Long may it continue, whatever Sunday’s result.

Many of those singing it don’t fully understand its relevance and significance in ‘96. It sounds great sung at Wembley though. Far better than this Sweet Caroline nonsense which has no place in football!

Pisser how many people on here are coming up with any shit they can find to downplay our victory. You've still got Italy to cling to fellas, but it's coming home! It's the bitter Irish contingent on here mate, desperate every game for us to lose. They need to get over their two best ever managers being good old, northern English lads... I've always wondered why some people from Ireland decide (of their own free will) to support an English club but then spend a considerable amount of their time on it's forum slagging off England- and then being surprised when they get pelters for it. It's like me supporting the Dallas Cowboys, joining a Dallas forum and then spend my time on there having a dig at Americans- it's all rather odd 😀 Anyway, if I was Irish, I'd be channelling my energies into wondering why my side had recently lost at home to Luxembourg...

Second half though they tired and their manager's weird subs removed their edge - seemed like a matter of time from that point. It just feels like we sell ourselves short by accepting that we have to “scrap” to win because we can’t win by “outplaying” our opponents. Perhaps Southgate feels under too much pressure to win to try a more expansive game. Hopefully in the near future he will feel more confident to allow the team to play.

What would you call running the ball from the corner in the opposing half to passing the ball back and back to the keeper? What about Kane falling over at every opportunity, even in a promising position? You’re right, Denmark were dead on their feet, so why not score again to take the pressure off completely?

From HT in the Belgium game onwards Italy have reverted to type playing negative spoiling tactics (although they were excellent in the first half of that game). Spain were by far the better side in their QF and Austria shaded the 90 minutes in the 2nd round before tiring in ET.

You don't just click your fingers and score like that, show some respect to the Danes. Look at the number of times Stoke under Pulis frustrated better sides in the Premier League. Denmark were a difficult and dogged opponent who were worn down and ran out of steam- a bit like Austria did against Italy in Round 2 (although I'd put Denmark in a higher bracket than Austria). They were chasing shadows and holding out for penalties from 60 minutes onwards

Fck it off I'll be very disappointed if we don't win on Sunday, but I'm also delighted we have made the step from semi-finals to a final after a number of failed attempts. I can't emphasise enough how important it is to get over these hurdles for the first time. I'm sure it makes it easier next time around, not least because the opposition now has to contemplate a team which doesn't always fold at critical points. They know they're in for a tough game and that in itself will affect their own confidence. I'll wager that most of the big sides always looked upon England as a dangerous side but one they always fancied progressing over. That view is probably slowly changing and this will only help. As much as it'll be a case of so near and yet so far, I'll be far happier being runners-up, if we have to be, than a losing semi-finalist yet again. I'm most impressed by how we have handled these games so far. We look like a proper grown-up international side at last, capable of keeping the ball, moving the opposition around like we've had done to us for years. Lots of positives regardless of the result on Sunday. Building on this with upcoming players will be absolutely crucial.

Taking Grealish off for Trippier in extra time seemed unnecessary, but it was fine ultimately. Don't see us beating Italy but anything can happen in a final. Yeah, they were the better team first half. We were a bit frantic, but some of that was down to the press from the Danes. I feared the worst when they scored, but we did react well and grew into the game. My heart was racing for pretty much the whole 2 hours and I never stopped pacing the house. I dread to think what I'll be like on Sunday. As for the Grealish sub, I was completely fine with it. I'm not saying it was something I'd have necessarily done, but I could understand his thinking. And I just like that he's brave enough to make the decisions he believes are right, when when he knows those decisions will be overwhelmingly disapproved of by the English fans. He's got a serious set of nads. I saw somebody on Twitter call it a cowardly decision. Whether you agreed with decision or not, one thing it wasn't was cowardly. Overall I'm just trying to soak it all in. I've watched every game we've played so far numerous times (well, the highlights) and just loving every minute. It's been 55 years since we last reached a final. I'm 38 now. If it takes that long again (hopefully it won't!) then I won't be around to see it. Savouring every minute. Made all that extra bit special, given the past 16 months we've been through. Seeing Wembley bouncing with 60,000 fans inside is something special. Everything about this tournament so far has been better than anything I could have ever hoped or dreamt of. I really hope we can make it over that last hurdle. They're a brilliant team and, despite what the bookies say, they have to be the favourites. Having said, we have home advantage and it's a one off game, it's 11 versus 11, and we've got Gareth Southgate steering the ship. The man I admit I doubted before a ball was kicked. The man I feared would persist with Sterling and cost us a chance (only for Sterling to go on and be our best player of the tournament). The man I feared would never drop Kane when his first couple of performances were completely lacklustre, only for his faith in Kane to be completely rewarded with him finding his feet again and going on a goals streak, and being our talisman again. Going back to before the tournament started I even questioned him when it was rumoured he wouldn't take TAA. As it turns out, from what I've seen of Walker throughout, even if TAA was fit, picking and selecting Walker was undoubtedly the correct decision. The success so far has been built on a rock solid foundation and whilst some people say its negative or boring, I couldn't disagree more. We've played to our strengths, we've played some good stuff along the way and we've scored our fair share of goals too, so it can't be that defensive!! I've stopped second guessing Southgate. Whether I agree with his choices or not, I've reached the point where he's got more than enough in the tank to earn the benefit of the doubt. Hes getting awfully more right than wrong, and he's proving himself to be tactically astute and a resilience and mettle to make the unpopular decisions, despite the potential backslash if things don't work out. This squad of players is special. There doesn't appear to be any egos or primadonnas. Just a great group of lads who are willing to work hard for one another and buy into everything the manager is asking of them. This past few weeks has given me some unbelievable memories that will last a life time. The type of days and moments that you live for. I'll be absolutely gutted if we lose on Sunday, but once that disappointment passes, I'll be unbelievably proud of this group of players and the manager. One final push now. Bring it home boys.

He's totally proved me wrong, I wasn't convinced about him as a manager at all going into the tournament. Yet he's proved himself overall an excellent England manager and a genuinely good bloke.

Morons. Some on here justifying booing the knee and the opposition anthem earlier in the tournament. They are not true supporters. They are embarrassing idiots. Strangely UEFA haven’t charged England for booing Taking The Knee. Fucking UEFA. Racist bastards. Actually they’ve charged them for booing the anthem. Proud of the team. Embarrassed by the Neanderthals….

I missed my Dad last night.
We shared the joy of 1966, but since then we had watched disappointment after disappointment. Now we have finally made it to another final, he is no longer with us to celebrate.
I’m sure there are loads of you with similar sentiments.

If you’re not easily offended, Rod Liddle’s regular reflections on Euro 2020/21 are quite entertaining, frequently xenophobic and well worth a read including his latest observations on last night’s game; It would have been a travesty if England didn’t winFor example… I did warn you!
