2 things of note with the signing: 1. Our NIge will have hell with his surname Maryroy Vernonchick

Whatever happened to young, hungry players that wanted to play for the shirt? we have some young hungry players and people moan about most of them on here every week we need more players with better technical ability, and we are now in the beggars cant be choosers category whether we like it or not. I simply don’t trust MON to sign players and everything I read about this lad tells me he has little stamina or pace. These are two of the glaring omissions from our team last season.

It's perhaps worth mentioning that we've been very lucky that Powell has not suffered one of his jiggly long term injuries since he signed for us. He's overdue, so I don't see any harm in bringing in an alternative.
What on Earth happened to Duffy that he never got a sniff for us and nobody else wanted him?

To be fair we had nobody to come on in centre mid to change a game last season. I can live with this signing he's supposed to be a good footballer, it's the non goalscoring striker rumour I'm struggling with

I'm surprised that people make judgements or base opinions on what they READ rather than what they have SEEN - but that seems to be today's fans' preferred method.

Played over 30 games for the best side in the league last season? Free?
No arguments from me. Good business

It's the 'with legs around him' bit that worries me slightly. That was the issue with Mikel as well. We don't currently have any legs in midfield. Hopefully we bring some in asap. But if we can finally have someone who can take a free kick/corner, that will be a huge boost. Realistically, he needs to be no worse than our current options (not hard). If he can offer an option to make the most of Batth et al going forward, that could add a huge string to our threat going forward.

If we're playing a two man midfield he's not a viable option as things stand, for all his qualities.

He was a bit of a fan's favourite there but Wilder couldn't not stand him (I know this for a fact) and couldn't wait to get rid. This player supposed to have a great attitude.

On the face of it the only potential issue with this transfer is MON and how he uses him.
From the sound of it, it would be detrimental to all if he used him like he used Mikel.
And the thought of having a great option from the bench is actually an exciting one given how useless our subs often were.
Hopefully he’s learned.

But as a back up for rotation and an option from the bench he seems ideal tbh.

nice to see some really positive comments about his technical skills though a little worrying physically he may be on the wain. That said we wouldn’t get him if he was at his peak. Looks like he’s got a great attitude. Looks a good signing. Did they say his physicality was on the wain or he's always been like that?

In terms of what we’re watching now a Philips who would need a Rice, problem is we just don’t have one. Who knows how things will shake up. A big DM like Rice should release your full backs when you have the ball. He’s certainly not immobile maybe he hasn’t got the stamina to do it for 90 but he caught my eye last season as a player I’d enjoy watching so pleased if he is coming to Stoke. Good signing it’s the incumbents that are the problem.

Not immobile, we’ll capable of making surging runs as well as great passes. Depends what you’re comparing him to don’t for a moment suppose he has the legs or engine of a Cantwell but definitely more mobile than JOM but not a like for like replacement. For me leaves us in need of a bit of a unit to sit in front of the defence and slot in with the centre backs when we have the ball to let the full backs push on.

we just need play teams as shit as us every week in that basis , everyone looks good against us , and before anyone jumps in i see nothing wrong with this signing free kicks aone will help and the link with Charles shows we are looking for firepower and both would provide things we didn't have last year, and this lad is proven at this level

He certainly is class, all depends if we can get enough quality around him to utilise his quality.

Great signing, even if just for a season or two.
If used correctly and he’s someone we can whack on around 60mins, either to kick us up the butt and make something happen or to calmly see it through. To have someone that can just whip some balls in is something we’ve been missing since…… Shaq?!?
Made me think, perhaps MoNs aversion to subs was from the despair of turning around and seeing who we had lined up on the bench, can’t say it would ever inspire me to make sub.

Just asked a mate of mine who I went uni with whose a Norwich fan about him:
“Is Vrancic any good?”
“Yes. Set pieces on point.
Cable (can maybe? he’s from Norfolk so god knows😂) be lazy out of possession
But when you're on top he's a dream“

Overall if like Bayern says mon uses him correctly him should be a good signing on a free. Also would be great to see dead balls get over the first man for a change 👍
