Blackpool fans singing "seaside aggro". That's an old one, which haven't heard in years.

No coincidence they’re managed by Liverpool’s U23s manager from last season, Neil Critchley. Done a great job taking them from relegation fodder to promotion contenders. Just shows there’s some great coaches to be had from the top sides looking for a job in management

There was a pub near Blacpool's ground that did meals for 99p....yes 99p. I think was a way of getting folk in there. I went in there with someone from this board but can't remember his name and I remember he had the 99p chips, peas and fish fingers. To be fair I think he paid over the odds and i passed on the culinary fayre on offer. was like stepping back in time .
I always quite like Blackpool as a club.

We seem to be on some sort of Saturday 'block list' for away fixtures at Blackpool.
Anyone remember the last time we got an away fixture at Bloomfield Road on a Saturday?
Joking apart I think such a list of 'not on a Saturday' matches must be programmed in to the fixtures computer. (Cardiff v Swansea, West Ham v Millwall etc.)
It must be possible to get such a list in the 'Freedom of Information' act, perhaps the FSF could take this up?

We got a summer bank holiday away at Blackpool just before the Cup Final, I think. We did indeed, it was 0-0 and we were 10th in the Premier League. Stoke City boss Tony Pulis: "Great strikers score great goals, but they do miss chances - and chances as easy as that. "But Kenwyne has been fantastic for us and there will be no problems with him. "Obviously it would have given us a great lift going in at half-time, but we also had opportunities in the second half which, on another day, could have dropped for us. "Glenn Whelan had a couple of opportunities which I thought were very close, but Blackpool are fighting for their lives and you have to give them a lot of credit."

Wasn't the day is poured down and we won 3-1 a Saturday? I think I was going straight to Stranraer to catch a ferry after and we got changed in the car as were soaking we through and put my trainers on the car heater. Luckily had changes of clothes. Ruined my Alan Biley style mullet as well

I have a soft spot for Blackpool for obvious reasons....
Happy memories there as a kid at the seaside, the Stanley Matthew's connection our clubs share, and most importantly the karaoke bars on offer there.

We’ve played there on a Saturday in both of the last two seasons we were in the same league (December 2007 3-2 win and April 2011 0-0 draw). The fixture list writers try and keep midweek trips relatively local so we do play a disproportionate number of midweek games against Lancashire clubs as it’s a fairly easy run along the M6 (if such a thing exists), so I’d put a perceived lack of Saturday games more down to this than anything else.

We played there in Shawcross's first or second season after joining us. They hadn't put up the "new" temporary stand on the east side of the ground and we were on a rickety old open stand made out of builder's scaffolding and builder's planks. It was lethal - someone near me nearly disappeared through a hole in the planking. I think that was a Saturday - certainly it was a day time game.

We won 3-2 and Fuller scored twice. A week later he scored a hat-trick against West Brom.

Blackpool were great weren't they? As were Oxford to be fair. It was a cracking game.
My eldest is in the Blackpool academy so it will be fantastic for the younger boys if they can get promotion.

Only one Blackpool trip sits in the panoply of games there accompanied by:
" I do like to be beside the seaside, oh I do like to be beside the sea.
With my bucket and my spade and a pocket hand grenade
beside the seaside beside the sea"
Alan Durban was not happy, times have changed but it was a cracking away day.
