Appreciating that 'big' is in the eye of the beholder!
Stoke City, Middlesboro, Birmingham City brothers in arms with 1 League Cup win each but stuff all else.
Anyone else in the frame?

Palace, Watford, Fulham, QPR, Bristol City, Hull City.
A pretty 'meh' list of clubs isn't it?

We must have entered the competition most often without winning it.

We must have entered the competition most often without winning it. I think I have lived through 50 FA Cup exits from Blyth Spartans to Manchester City, they don't get any easier. Some fine day!

Pub Quiz Question Alert:
How many times have Stoke City lost in the FA Cup to the eventual winners?

We couldnt win it when there was only a dozen or so clubs when it first started so we've got next to no chance with the hundreds that qualify for it now.

We must surely be the club with the most time spent in the top tier that has never won the FA Cup?

Got to be those 3 hasn't it? We'd be a strong contender for number one considering we're a founding member of the Football League and have been competing in it right from the start.

See your point but decent clubs to us supporters They are all examples of what my old dad would call ‘Vale teams’ - i.e teams he would see as a lad at Vale where he used to go when Stoke were playing away. Without bothering to look I doubt any of them have spent anything like the time Stoke have in the top flight.

Pub Quiz Question Alert: How many times have Stoke City lost in the FA Cup to the eventual winners? I was wondering this yesterday. Do you know the answer? As well as Leicester this year, there is obviously Man City in 2011 and Arsenal in 1971. There are probably quite a few more.

Arsenal won it in 05 after the Wayne Thomas goal didn't they.
It always stuck in my head that we got knocked out by the runners up in the FA Cup and League Cup in 1988 (Liverpool and Arsenal)

It’s bloody us isn’t it?
On the basis of years in the top flight -v- FA cup wins only Bolton are above us and they won it in the 50’s.

Staggering really, nearly 160 years of history, many spent in the top league, some of the greatest players the country has ver produced playing for us and just one major trophy to show for it ☹️☹️

I'd say Birmingham.
In the grand scheme of things they are a bigger club than us.
