Doing a bit of auxiliary googling while listening to the Macari podcast, I realised I'd forgotten Bertie Biggins came back from Celtic for a second spell with us pre-Sheron/Sturridge. Steino also came back on loan of course. Griffin had two spells (well three technically) separated by 8 or ten years, Kenwyne had a less-than-impressive loan spell as a young'un. Seemingly Carlo Nash was with us twice... can't think of any others off the top of my head

I'm not sure if I've imagined this but did Assaidi have two spells with us? Two "adjacent" loan spells in consecutive seasons.. it'll have to go to the panel

Salif Diao. Didn’t we have him on a successful loan period from Liverpool and then signed him after he’d gone back?

Gabriel Zakuani did a couple-ish of seasons around about 06-07 so might have signed 2 loans?

I was actually thinking the other day that lots of players over the years have left and come back. I wonder how the numbers on our list of returnees compares to other clubs ?
