I agree with your mate. I'd be surprised if there wasn't another bid last night after the game. If we could shift just one more bit of deadwood (MaClean?) I'm sure we could make Fleetwood an offer of cash plus a loan player they could not refuse. That would be ideal, especially the shifting McLean bit, but this could be a continuation our relationship in loaning younger players knowing they will get the right support and development. Could be a win win all round.

It’s all so eerily quiet about him isn’t it? Is he even training? So far I’d put this transfer window now up to an 8/10. If we could rid ourselves of him I’d have to be looking at a 10.

The bigger problem is getting rid of one or two of our existing midfielders. He's also not a DM, so we still have that hole to fill. I'd gladly let Clucas and Thompson go myself.

Both are alright though and I assume no one is coming in for either. Thompson I know isn't remotely exciting really but he'll be on absolutely fuck all, his attitude seems good and to be fair on him he's had some decent games so really he's handy to keep a hold of as long as he wants to be here. I'm not sure what happened to Clucas, I think perhaps just hasn't been at full fitness in some time?

From the sound of how Matete played last night and the opinion of a few posters, wouldn't he be more exciting than Thompson, although I guess the latter can play deeper when needed. If we get Baker or Garner to play that DM role then I'll be happy and as they would both be loans, it's more realistic.

West Brom only played Mclean as a last ditch hope against relegation, previous to that he was more or less sidelined, never understood why they paid money for him.

You'd think if we'd wanted him he'd be here .
We'd have the money from what's left of the Collins deal

We'd have the money from what's left of the Collins deal Oh, so how much money have we got left and how are we financing Ostigard's loan and any others coming in? We've already bought Surridge (£2.5 and rising plus wages) and Willmott. But if you have any inside financial info please share with the group.

So if McCann is our number one target and would cost money, who would leave to make way?. On reflection we have done some great business this window, however, resigning Clucas on a new contract, wasn't the best ☹️

We've already bought Surridge (£2.5 and rising plus wages) and Willmott. But if you have any inside financial info please share with the group. The Collins money goes as a £12m profit in the year he was sold, Surridge / Wilmott and all transfer fees get spread over length of their contracts which are I think 5 years so if we say £12m in £4m out is an £8m profit we report that as a £11.2m profit this year than 4 losses of £0.8m in the next 4 years, so there probably is some headroom for the right player.

Although Clucas signed a new deal, it would not surprise me if he left before the window ended for a fee, leaving us even more wriggle room.

not only did we sell collins we got money for Bruno and Lindsey. We’ve done some cracking business so far when you look at it My guess is that this would have been nominal, likely just covering agents/admin costs involved in the transaction etc The main thing was just removing the cost of their wages that would have been on our books for a year. For example a years wages for Bruno on £30k a week would equate to roughly £1.5m loss for a whole year for us. Lindsey roughly £1m over the year(?). So it freed us up of making a £2.5m loss for the year meaning more room with FFP for incomers.

Add Shawcross to that as well. Could be looking at several million plus on that front alone.
