Seriously, based on past performance - what would it take next season for our owners to pull the trigger - bottom 3 at Xmas? To late half a season gone you would have thought Coates learnt his lesson by leaving it to late in sacking Hughes.

How many of the team that started today will be starting next season? I reckon 4 at most. Brown, Chester, Powell and Thompson. And that’s at a real stretch with them bar Powell. There’s no need to be arsed over that tonight. It’s not about tonight though is it, it’s been months with lots of players Exactly Tonight in isolation would be tolerable but its every fucking week I like oneill and i appreciate that the problems run far deeper than him. However he shoukd be getting a far better tune out of these players

If we did get rid, we would just hire yet another plodding British manager. They would muster a few wins and then go to shit. Just saying like. Exactly right. They went left field (for us) with Jones and look what happened.

The danger with sacking any manager at this club is who the replacement is. The family that own us have a hit rate of one good manager every 15 years.
I'd dread to think who they would turn to next. We've burned our way through the who's who of nobody, never have beens quicker than Princess Margaret going through 20 Bensons.

Yes Verlinden is taking the Dutch league by storm🤣 well, would you rather have verlinden at stoke, or matondo? when verlinden played eh was one of the very few i saw some excitement with. my point is that is that O'Neill has gone backwards, and what he brings in, isn't as good as we already have. gunn and mikel for example. I agree on Matondo he’s been dreadful,I think we’ve seen tonight what happens when we open up with this squad of players that he’s left with at the minute.

If we did who would we bring in?

warning signs were there by getting rid of Verlinden and replacing with Matondo. his 'buys' and loans have not been great in the slightest. Too many red flags over his signings for me. Brown? OK he's had a decent spell but the jury's still out. Doughty? A sizeable chunk of our budget on another injury risk. And he's picked up another injury apparently. He'll probably spend more time on the treatment table than on the pitch. Gunn on a two year loan and picked over two better keepers that we own? Speechless. Absolutely speechless. And who signs players on two year loans? Matondo? Gash. And the persistence with Vokes is just bizarre. It's almost cruel.

It’s not about tonight though is it, it’s been months with lots of players It has but but he’s not going to be sacked. I honestly think we need to relax, forget about this season and move on. The manager and players forgot about it in January. The useless wankers will be lucky to remember a new one in August.

Didn't watch tonight but I'm checked out on MON now. After 3/4 of a season of really poor form and awful football, 1 point from Preston, Coventry and Birmingham is just desperate.
Depressing thing is I don't care if he stays or goes at the moment. Can't see us being much cop either way next season. Recruitment-wise the club needs a plan in place *now* for next summer, which seems beyond them in all honesty.

18 points behind Barnsley tells us where we are at the moment and where we may be next season. shit tactics, poor recruitment and shocking football, as for our results, enough said, it goes deeper than the manager but he should take the lions share of the blame this season. We need to be proactive and if that means changing the manager so be it, I can’t think of another aspiring club that would put up with this shit or the results.
The problem is they would probably go down the same route in selecting the new manager. Just as this manager doesn’t seem to learn, the board definitely doesn’t. Time for that root and branch change Mr Coates.

I dont think Pep could do much with that lot! We have put together a team containing very little quality MON has been part of the making of this dreadful side. Not his fault totally, but his tactics are shit too. He doesnt help himself.

When people were gushing over his honesty I was wincing at his post match interview at Leicester, where after a solid season he went all Phil Brown and hammered them after a rare defeat. Good manager, questionable use of the 'honesty bus'.
