Every single shot that went to Jaaskelainen's left hand went in, he was hopeless that side and I'm sure we targeted it.

Apologies if already posted and in my drunken state I have not seen it but it will be 10 years tomorrow since we dicked Bolton 5-0 at Wembley. Personally,my favourite Stoke performance. I was in India at the time, many bars had promised live coverage and i spent around 30 minutes going around them in a tuk-tuk trying to find one who"COULD" show to no avail went back to hotel and ended up in my room watching on a old 14" black and white television with a weak signal which made the picture look like it was being played in a blizzard , i missed first two goals but what a night. After the match finished i went down to the bar (they could not get the match because they had satellite t.v.only) and had a hard time convincing people that was the score. Excellent. Oddly I flew via India to London the day before the game . Was a bit nervous and a few drinks on the plane and in the lounge.

I remember the day very well. I was in hospital having had some nasty things done to my kidneys. The bloke opposite was listening to the commentary on his radio . I could not believe it when he said "Stoke are 3-0 up at half time". The nurses would not allow any celebratory beverage except a glass of water!

I texted my wife at half time to ask her to check I wasn’t still in bed asleep and if I was not to wake me as I was having the best dream ever.

Wasn't it the start of Bolton's catastrophic decline to being on the brink of non-league football. Indeed, one of my mates still blames us for where they ended up and where they still are

We don't see him mentioned often these days, but I really miss Jermaine Pennant. He had a touch of class about him on his day. Lovely footballer.

The most surreal Stoke game I've ever attended. Like some sort of David Lynch-esque dream sequence only without the backwards talking dwarfs. Still didn't believe it was actually happening even when we went 3-0 up. As the fourth and fifth went in me and the mate I was sat with just started laughing uncontrollably 😂 Bonkers game, bonkers day, bonkers result. (bonkers) Folk forget now that Bolton were actually better placed up the Prem than we were at the time. That third goal. Heck. I was almost crying. Mr Pennant all your later transgressions are excused.

The best day I've ever had as a Stoke supporter, I can still picture my friends and late brother basking in the sun on the green before the match, then coming out of Wembley wondering where that performance came from. A magic day with great memories. Gouranga.

....Just imagine if Wilko had scored Was one of the 250,000 people who got sustenance from The Green Man pub, and for some reason can remember Bolton fans coming to blows when the 4th went in The journey home from Paddington via The Monk on the concourse was messy

My recollections of the day are that the whole day was surreal, I am old enough to recall the pain of our 2 semi final defeats to Arsenal in the 70s but I was quite calm up until we were 2-0 up and the memories of those games crept back in, my stress level went up despite events on the pitch. Two unusual events then happened, Jermaine Pennant won the ball and went forward but a bigger shock was to see Kenwyne Jones running forward as though he meant it and pointing out to Pennant where he wanted the ball which he lifted over the keeper 3-0 and absolute pandemonium in the stands. It is just a pity that Andy Wilkinson couldn't sort his feet out, get on the scoresheet when he had the chance and put the icing on the cake.

How good was football with fans in the stadium! It becomes really hard to watch football nowadays with empty stadiums.

A strange day, we were in France on holiday and pulling into see our Friends just outside Lille.. Didn't know the score but he was a lifelong Bolton fan. He didn't enjoy watching the highlights.

Wonderful to read TP’s account of that day.
What a wonderful leader he was. It will be many decades before we find anyone else as good.

Wonderful to read TP’s account of that day. What a wonderful leader he was. It will be many decades before we find anyone else as good. I suspect he might be back it’s beginning to feel like Burton and taylor destined to be together as the current Situation is the downside of Pulis with none of the up he’s have been the right choice last time as argued And I’m no acolyte but in the mess we are he’s ideal a s of course has one huge advantage namely the status quo would have to change it
